Review: Next up from the Slit Jockey US team, we see them welcome the enigmatic sounds of G3 inside for an exclusive remix project, welcoming some of the most creative producers on the planet to have their say on 'Who Doin The Drums'. We begin with Korostyle's futuristic grime rethink, unleashing classic morgue licks and skippy clap-driven drum patterns, before Starkey cooks the original down into a sharpened half-time smash. Following this, Drum Machine Lust gives the the track a lick of junglist paint with some well thought out chop & screw techniques, before Bloodysnowman sends the track down it's most experimental route, stuffing it full of wonky synthesizer energy to complete an excellent selection of overhauls.

Review: Little Corner have hit the nail on the head with this one as they arrange 13 tracks of pure musical freedom, going by the collective name of 'En Famille'. We see submissions from the likes of high flyers such as Scratcha DVA, Etch, Atlas and more, with a tonne of new school names providing fantastic contributions. For us the stand out tracks have to include the stunning melodic movement and icey sound design of G3's 'Paprika', DJ Manny's super bouncy adventure in 'U Wanna B Fr33' and Extract's acid-inspired journey through sound in 'Eager'.

Review: This far, G3 has pretty much stuck to releasing a wide variety of EP's, but this new album on Rudimentary marks a clear step forward from the artist in terms of art and craft. Unfurled placed under the umbrella term 'bass', Garden Reach is a multi-faceted and singular piece of sonic construction that, yes, deals in low frequencies, but ultimately goes way beyond that by offering twelve twelve slices of neural beat elasticity that range form the dance-centric, to the utterly loose and experimental. One way of describing it would be to think if Burial, Plastician and Autechre got together in the studio and made an album. You can picture the results.
