Review: Toolroom returns with the next installment in their new compilation series, which rejuvenates the very best in house, tech house and techno from their mammoth back catalogue. Toolroom Vaults Vol. 4 features some greatest hits and near misses, with some of the highlights being: label staple Rene Amesz's tribal techno funk workout "Dextro", veteran British producer Quivver with the slinky and emotive groove of "Push & Pull", Marcellus Wallace's deep down and dirty "88 Back", not to mention D. Diggler & Nadja Lind loading up the mandatory techno banger straight off the factory floor on "Einfach Zweifach" and Rain City Riot with the sensual vocal cut "Beautiful Lies" - among many many others.

Review: Following on from the inaugural Metaroots split release from late last year, Suara delivers a second volume. Leading the charge on this collection of dynamic dance floor tracks is Rohar, with the blustering tribal drums of "Blunder", while Alessandro Grops, who featured on the first edition drops the stripped back, vocal-sampling jack of "Rexilety". Gaston Zani is another return visitor, who also draws on vocal samples, applying them to a dense, looped groove. Best of all though is Victor Fernandez' contribution, with the ominous synth stabs and steely, relentless rhythm of "The Beginning Of The End" redolent of Dave Clarke's Red series.

Review: Following on from last year's collaboration on Analytic Trail, Filterheadz and Gaston Zani get together once again for this outing on Tronic. The title track is a heads-down, pumping affair, populated by muffled vocal samples and leading into tripped out synth builds. On "Fortitude", they head down a visceral route; the bass is dark and pumping and builds and builds throughout the arrangement, while the use of ominous, industrial riffs lends the arrangement extra menace. On "Possession", the trio serve up their darkest track on the release, with spiralling acid and ominous rave riffs supporting ponderous vocal samples.
