Review: In keeping with the approach of its predecessors, the fourth annual Boogie Angst compilation brings together "cool cuts" from the past year and a smattering of exclusives and previously unreleased gems. As you'd expect from a label helmed by Kraak & Smaak, it's a genuinely joyous and celebratory affair, packed to the rafters with party-starting workouts. For proof, check the revivalist disco-boogie cheeriness of Titeknots' 'Feels Good 2 Me', the future soul shuffle of 'Treat U Good' by Moods, Noah Slee, Lyriya & Meron, the summery electrofunk sunshine that is Art of Tones' kaleidoscopic rework of LUXXURY's 'Just Like It Was Before', the Rhodes-laden warmth of Kraak & Smaak's nostalgic 'All I Need' and the spiritually-enriching Latin deep house shuffle of Osunlade's Yoruba Soul rework of his Casbah 73 collaboration, 'Let's Invade The Amazon'.

Review: A four-tracker here from publicity-shy French producer Georges, who's racked up nearly 20 releases on Boogie Angst and French label AOC but about whom we can tell you very little. 'Karma' opens the EP on a laidback, summery kinda tip with some chorus'd female aahs and oohs by way of a vocal. Next comes recent single 'Now You're Gone', which features Stee Downes on mic duties and will appeal to fans of Smoove & Turrell, Andre Espeut etc. We then head down a slightly deeper, jazzier path with 'Back To FM', before the EP's rounded out by a Dub of 'Now You're Gone'.

Review: AOC Records' latest outing is something of a family affair. It features two of the Paris-based label's regular artists joining forces for their most expansive collaborative EP to date. They open with the rushing piano house positivity of "Absolutely", where restless riffs and jazzy Rhodes solos rise above a chunky, bass-heavy groove, before wrapping punchy horn stabs and funk-fuelled riffs around more bustling beats on "Contrasts". Elsewhere, "At The Jazz Club" is a superior slab of evocative jazz-house tastiness, "About Love" is a warm and dreamy late night deep house treat and closing cut "Thin" is a breezy fusion of jazzy instrumentation and ultra-deep early morning house grooves.

Review: Not content with serving up regular doses of ear-pleasing nu-disco, the Future Disco crew has decided to start sound-tracking days spent lounging on the beach. Somewhat predictably, this second Beach Life selection is packed with seriously steamy, sun-kissed grooves. While this epic digital package does contain two (un-credited) DJ mixes, the real joy is the expansive - not to mention eclectic - selection of DJ-friendly, unmixed tracks. Check, for example, the sun-down, jazz-funk influenced bliss of Folamour's "L'homme Loup", the head-nodding lounge warmth of Snacks' "Daydream", the gentle Balearic nu-disco of Sirs, the lo-fi deep house haziness of DJ Boring and COEO, and the sand-in-the-shoes shuffle of Eli Escobar's delicious remix of Kraak and Smaak's "U R Freak". Throw in a swathe of tasty, laidback but floor-friendly deep house jams and you have a solid collection of serious summer jams.

Review: Sometime AOC Records and Boogie Angst artist Georges debuts on Better Listen Records, one of the undoubted disco/house success stories of the last five years. He begins with the hybrid organic/electronic house-not-house of 'Feelin' - all rubbery bass guitar, glistening guitar licks, sampled disco vocals and jammed-out Fender Rhodes riffs - before opting for a smoother, jazzier and even more electric piano-tinged slice of summery deep house energy in the shape of 'Comon'. To round off the package, Fouk remixes 'Feelin', turning the track into a more driving (if also pleasingly bouncy) chunk of disco-house hedonism.
