Review: First released on vinyl in 2017 as "Bonus Blurps", this tidy EP offers up a range of Gnork tracks, plus the Hungarian producer's wonderfully warm and melodious retro-futurist deep house remix of Schmidt Trigger's "Bethesda Bison" and two spacey ambient revisions of his work by Luv Jam. Highlights are plentiful, from the bass-heavy bounce of hybrid electro/deep house number "Sexxx In Space" and the bleeping bliss of "Planet EE 1 4 (Gnork's Secret Unreleased Mix)", to the hazy, dubbed-out hypnotism of early morning treat "Wat (Gnork's Secret Unreleased 4 Mix)".

Review: When it comes to crafting glassy-eyed gems that join the dots between colourful, loved-up Italian dream house and buzzing, breakbeat-driven early UK house, few are quite as consistently on-point as Hungarian producer Gnork. Handily, further proof of his skills has arrived via this superb EP on Magicwire. While "Tokyo Brakes" is wonderfully deep, spacey and wavy, and "Magic Arpz" pushes the tempo up to 140 with predictably giddy results, it's opener "Yoga On E" that really sparkles. Tactile, kaleidoscopic, groovy and as rush inducing as 808 State's similarly-minded "Pacific", it sounds like the perfect record to soundtrack sunset somewhere hot and steamy. That said, bubbling mid-tempo Balearic house closer "Ezoteric Massage (Extended Pleasure Mixxx)" is as deep, beautiful and picturesque as they come.

Gnork & Luv Jam - "Troppppixxxx" - (6:28) 120 BPM Hot
Jimini - "Back To Reality" - (6:44) 120 BPM
Review: Blind Jacks Journey is a genuinely fresh and provocative UK house label that stands apart from the rest of the material coming out of the British Isles. Curiously, the name is based on John Metclaf, a famous engineer from Yorkshire who also went by the name of Blind Jack of Knaresborough, and that's exactly the sort of humorous edge that runs through the label...something that we're always find of. It's all about chilled, placid house here, and RNR drops two stellar doses of the stuff in "Moments" and "Moments Vox Tool", a pair of sensual dance scorchers that sound improvisational yet perfectly happy and balanced in their minimalism. Mr Fiel's "Sunset On The Moon" is a similar sort of lick except that here the percussion is more tribal and the sounds less solitary, but the flipside by Gnork and Luv Jam, named "Troppppixxxx", is what we would call an 'utter winner'; it's the sort of house tune with that subtle acid sway and just the right amount of balearic charm. Jimini's "Back To Reality" completes the picture with a deep and dubby missile for those after-hour sets. Tip!

Gnork - "Piano.93" - (1:34) 126 BPM
Oddnipp - "Tripp.4" - (5:44) 110 BPM
Review: The warm sway of analogue synth jams abound on the latest Blind Jacks Journey release, conjuring up the kind of cosy house music that will see you through the long winter nights. Heko holds court over with "Melrose Flames" and "Ethereal", summoning up a healthy amount of synth-pop charm and soundtrack mystery across both jams. Gnork has a slightly more space-sighted approach on "Out There" with its wistful Detroit-esque pads and dusty drum machines, before he switches stance on "Blorp93-Piano93" with a focus on a subtly processed piano hook with little else around it. Oddnipp's "Tripp 4" takes a diversion once again, this time ending up down a spooky back road of forlorn melodic wraiths and downbeat house rhythms.

Heko - "Mercury Seven" - (6:01) 114 BPM
Lock Eyes - "Living In A Cup" - (6:24) 124 BPM
Marius Varied - "Artus Beach Miks" - (6:39) 114 BPM
Gnork - "The Unofficial Chords Of Planet Ee" - (5:50) 123 BPM Hot
Review: From the same crew that brought us the Crown Castle Cuts series; Blind Jacks Journey arrives at its fourth and final volume which is just as eminently collectable as the editions that preceded it. French producer Heko calls shotgun with "Mercury Seven" a wonderfully uplifting slab of modern italo, all thick channelled arpeggios, heavy filtering and choppy drums that will fit snugly in any warm up set. From here the unheralded Lock Eyes transfers the mood to warm and playfully fluffy dub techno on "Living In A Cup" where a fairly straight rhythm kick is the placeholder around which all manner of interesting detail is unfurled - if Anthony Naples came from Knaresborough he might make music like this. The pastoral warmth remains when Full Pupp veteran Marius Vareid turns in a slab of blissful Nordic house with "Artur Beach Miks" whilst Hungarian producer Gnork lays down what's possibly an ode to Carl Craig's Psyche output with the ascendant charm of "The Unofficial Chords Of Planet EE".

Acasual - "Spring Theory" - (6:58) 114 BPM Hot
Review: While every man, woman and child with a studio now seems to be making loved-up deep house inspired by the short-lived Italian dream house movement, Blind Jacks Journey has been championing the sound for years. In fact, this brilliant collection of luscious workouts first saw the light of day on vinyl way back in 2013. There's naturally much to admire throughout, from the acid-laced melodic wooziness and rolling rhythms of Gnork's "W.1.3", to the jaunty, whistling synthesizer melodies, warm analogue bass and fizzing electronics of Ratcatcher's "Marsupial Dreams". Arguably best of all, though, is the organ-heavy mid-tempo bliss of Acasual's sublime "Dream Theory", which is so authentically saucer-eyed it could have been made and released by legendary Italian label DFC at the turn of the '90s.

Review: The Quartet Series label is born out of the collaboration between like-minded house enthusiasts, four producers who share a similar vision of club music and who have each earned their stripes on different labels. First up, we have Local Talk's Crackazat with "Lindop Circles", a gloriously laid-back house chiller with a funky twist, Quintessentials contributor Saine goes for the proper 'chug' approach on his wavy "Prime Chops" tune, "Totally Not Mystique" by Apparel Music's Nachtbraker is a woozy, bass-heavy stomper, and Gnork heads straight to the warehouse with his minimal, Chicago-filtered "Chord Tool". Ah, yes.
