Review: Manchester legend Greg Fenton continues with his tremendous return to production with these four sultry, funky and ultra deep numbers for Manchester Underground Music. First up Sunset people is peak time dancefloor action all the way with tough bassline, thunderous toms and big room organ chords sounding not too dissimilar from old D'julz. "Pale Blue Eyes" is more of the same but takes things a little deeper with its dreamy chords and druggy atmosphere, it works! "Communique" is the bomb here with its irresistible rolling bassline, sexy synth stabs and catchy vocal hook. Finally "We start From Here" hammers the message home with yet another mesmerising exercise in deepness, but this time strictly for the afterhour. Tip!

Review: For one week only, most of the house and techno community has decamped to Amsterdam. In recognition of this annual industry jolly, Manchester Underground has put together a compilation of rolling, tribal grooves. Fittingly, "Crazy Vibe" by Edy Ramas and Dani Torres, features what could be the sound of a plane taking off amid its dense, filtered breaks and drops. On arrival in the Dam, the MUM massive get busy with the meaty bass of Soul Holder's "One More Time", the dreamy vocals and menacing subs of "Sunshine In The Darkness" by Carlos Pulido and Lopezhouse and this writer's favourite, the percussive techno and tripped out chords of "Muzique (Curious George & The Agent remix)" by OD Muzique and Mark Holmes.

Review: The ADE has become one of the most important dates in the international electronic music diary, and if this compilation is anything to go on, it taps into the current musical climate. Sampler contains more than its fair share of loppy house and tribal workouts - contributions from Gabriel Ben and Lee Picton's insane whooshing stand out - but it's the interpretations of classic sounds that really impress the most. Greg Fenton's "Revolver" is a chugging techno groove, its heavy beats underscoring a massive air raid siren. Mark Holmes's dub remix of Tuunee's "I'll be (right there)" is even more intense, with widescreen chords and a massive Resse-style bassline combining for an epic slice of dramatic techno.
