Review: More highly engineered tech house by Parisian A.M. expert Mehdi Djebali here on his eponymous label, in collaboration with veteran Argentinian producer Guti. The pair began the production process almost a year ago, in Djebali's Paris studio. Although nothing was planned, they ended up creating six tracks in only a mere few days, and after road testing the material and seeing people's reactions on the dancefloor - they returned to the studio at the end of the summer to finish it. The resulting tracks appear on the Almost Finished LP: from the sunny and seductive sundown vibe of the title track, rolling and hypnotic afterhours tackle such as "Today's Vibe" and "Recreational Drugs" to slinky and hypnotic numbers like "Then I Am Free" or "La Profundo" which ssee Djebali follow in the Parisian tradition of legends like D'julz, DJ Deep and Franck Roger, while Guti injects proceedings with his signature latin flair. A solid body of work here.

Review: It's a big week for Russian producer Tripmastaz, who has two big collaborations hitting Junodownload: another studio hook-up with old pal DJ Sneak and this rugged effort alongside sometime Crosstown Rebels, Cuttin' Headz, Desolat and Defected regular Guti. "R U Happy" is an energetic, mind-altering workout that wraps wonky, acid-influenced electronic motifs, looped vocal smippets and warehouse-ready synth stabs around a rhythm track that sits somewhere between tech-house hypnotism and old school Chicago jack. D'Julz superb accompanying remix adds heavy sub bass, chunkier and looser beats and some seriously trippy high-register electronic noises, while Guti and Tripmastaz's EP-closing instrumental mix is arguably even more trippy sounding than their brain-melting original take.

Review: Argentinian house hero Guti is still going strong after all this time, and this new one for The Martinez Brothers' Cuttin' Headz imprint is a testament to the fact. Following up some great releases in recent times on Desolat, Fuse London and his very own Rompecorazones imprint, Guti Bacchetti serves up some sweltering heat on "Red Eye" which features a dirty, swing-fuelled shuffle with druggy vocal murmurs with trippy evolving chords to get that proper trance induction in effect. Desolat head honcho Loco Dice sure gets the party vibes happening darn well with his rendition, while Romanian scene hero Priku makes a surprising addition - he delivers a reduced and hypnotic remix which we enjoyed the most!

Review: Guti is arguably one of dance music's most enthusiastic collaborators. To date, the Argentine producer has released joint productions with an impressive list of house and techno talent, including Martin Buttrich, Shlomi Aber, Benny Rodriguez, Morgan and Guy Gerber. On this EP, he's joined in the studio by Romanian rising star Cristi Cons. The like-minded pair hit the ground running with "Volver", a stomping tech-house floor-filler whose tough, acid-flecked groove and metronomic bassline come wrapped in ghostly chords and trippy electronics. Then, "Nuevo" is a chunky but spacey deep house affair. That track is given the remix treatment by Enzo Siragusa, who brilliantly toughens it up and drags it further towards peak-time techno territory.

Review: Argentina's Guti returns for another killer release for Loco Dice and Martin Buttrich's estemmed Desolat imprint. On the Swings EP, he starts out with the rolling maximal house of "Like The Old Days" which is reminiscent of Romanian styles by the likes of Livio & Roby; we're really digging this! "Rawcid" is the fiercest offering on here and like the name may suggest: this is one raw acid techno trip you won't forget! There's some banging peak time tech house that's perfectly made for Ibiza superclubs on the relentless "Judge Me" as well as some impressive collaborations with Morgan; two in fact. But for our money we'd bet on the funky and lo-slung title track, which throws down something deeper and balances out this fine EP.

Review: It's hard to believe that Loco Dice's label has been around for so long - or more surprisingly that it covers so much ground. While much of the label's focus remains on toolish, tribal house, 5 Years also covers deep, chiming house, audible on Yaya's "Our Connection" and the driving, vocal-filled groove of Dice's own "Lolopopinho". Of the tribal-styled tracks, the ones that stand out most are the ponderous vocals of Basti Grub's "Drunk & High" and the intoxicating chants of Francisco Allendes' "Platonic Solid". Yet neither can compare to the acid-filled, rolling snares of Horatio's "How Much 909 Can You Take", which sounds like LFO vs FUSE's "Loop" on acid.
