Review: Maintaining a fresh approach to releasing and compiling music, Agogo out of Austria presents the second volume of their Two Tribes series. Bringing together 14 tracks from a plethora of artists, the LP keeps with its MO of building a musical bridge between Africa and Europe. A highlight straight off the bat is Alma Negra's "Oh Mar" next to the equally subby grooves of Rabii Harnoune & V.B. Kuhl's "Invitation To Dance". More afro-futuristic elements come into play thanks to tracks by Kaleo Sansaa, Lua Preta and Dowdelin's soulful downtempo joint, "Vis La Vie". Other spiritual jazz comes through Karthala 72's "Heavy Revolution", David Nesselhauf and The Kutimangoes "Money Is The Curse", to more vocal numbers by Guts, Onipo's "Yenimo", and Octa Push, Alai K & Isaac Anyanga's "Nyatiti".

Review: Spain's Fabrice Henri, AKA Guts, returns to French label Heavenly Sweetness with a seven-track EP showcasing his trademark blend of world music, jazz, electronic and hip-hop influences. The title track is a sprightly Afro-funk jam that gets a light-touch house makeover on the Poirier Remix, while a rawer funk sound characterises 'L'Origine Du Monde'. Latin/Afro house vibes are the order of the day on the two rubs of 'Mucagiami', 'Corner' is a straight-up Afro workout, while last but by no means least there's 'Nou Menm', a jazzy funk/soul cut with Afro percussion and a spoken, French-language male vocal.

Review: Parisian producer GUTS has covered a lot of musical ground over the past decade, from hip-hop to Afro-disco and space jazz, but most recently he's been working with a coterie of top-flight world music players and producers including Cyril Atef and Ben Abarbanel-Wolff. Together they've been touring extensively as a quintet, but they've also found time to record this album, which they describe as "flitting between Brazil, Africa and the Caribbean". The likes of Gilles Peterson or Mr Scruff will no doubt be in raptures, but even if you're not normally a great lover of world music there are still some gems to discover - see fast 'n' furious slap bass workout 'Matadou' for starters.

With such a fine ear for timelessness and vibe, the whole collection runs with a soul and spiritual fluidity as one cohesive body of work; from the incredible-yet-so-gradual momentum of Chickenwing All Stars "Celestial Blues" to touching homages to the one and only Coltrane from both Patchworks and Byard Lancaster via slick spacebound feminist hip-hop from Sly Johnson and a stacks more, this is the type of collection you can lose entire weeks of your life to. Here's to another 10 years.

Review: The earlier editions of the Beach Diggin' series were released in the depths of winter, but this new fifth instalment continues to buck the trend by appearing at the height of summer. Ibiza veterans Mambo & Guts are once again at the helm, providing us with 13 more 'perfect soundtracks for a lazy day at the beach' (there's also a 40 min mix too!). Review: Since making his debut in the mid noughties - some 15 years after he began making beats -Ibiza-based Guts has developed his sound somewhat. Where his early releases doffed a cap to classic trip-hop and downtempo grooves, recent outings have effortlessly joined the dots between live funk, golden era hip-hop and modern soul, with some notable jazz and Latin American influences thrown in. Eternal, his latest full-length, continues this approach, throwing in additional nods to P-funk (the superb "Give You Up"), nu-jazz ("Incomplete"), and Afrobeat ("Dance, Love & Die"). With a string of guest musicians, singers and rappers lending a hand, Eternal is a vibrant, thrill-a-minute album that shows off the full range of Guts' finely honed skills.
