Review: Rumour has it our kid Harls named this EP 'Circular' after the A406 North Circular ring road around London. Word on the street is that he named it after the shape of his favourite coin (a 10p). Frankly we don't care either way. Not when the music's as vibey as this. Once again flexing his deeper, more leftfield side, highlights include the woozy introspective wonk of 'Bring Me Down', the smoking 140 sizzles of 'Close Your Eyes' and the interesting momentum, twists and cool neck-snap funk of 'New Direction'. The dreamy-but-punchy title track has a lot of sass to it, too. You'd be loopy not to jump on this Circular.

Fresh from dropping fire on the likes of Serial Killaz, High Tea, Grid and many other labels across the spectrum, he sets the levels for this burgeoning collective with a white knuckle EP that's laced in tension and lands just in time for Halloween. Flexing the deeper side of his palette, both "Frighteners" and "Quark" are lessons in restraint steeped in sub-bass. Deeper into the EP we hit the grotty funk of "Creeper", the emotional yearns of "Don't You Ever", the sinewy spooky of a new VIP twist on his old Subdue free download "Critique" and the finale "Enchanted", a beguiling cut that showcases some of Harley's most interesting fusions to date. Review: Avast all ye creepy crawlies and slimy sentient beings, Harley D is on a mission and he's come to strictly crush, squish and splatter with this massive six track session. As always, Harley is in full flavour mode as he tears through the D&B spectrum. At his deepest he purrs with slinky bubblers like 'Cold Wind', at his heaviest he's grizzling and switching to the slippery vibes of 'Creatures'. Elsewhere we get our swagger on to 'Dungeon Master', get freaky to 'Experiment' and get up to a whole load of animal antics in between. Woof woof!

Review: Original Key's Faces Of Jungle series has been a consistent and prolific platform for some pretty exceptional and heavy hitting slabs of breakcraft sorcery in the last year. Name a currently active artist in jungle and D&B and there's a chance they've flexed here... As collection of the last four VAs proves. All styles and sounds should be expected from the juicy jump-up disco funk of Bassface Sascha & Fiendsoul's 'Back To Basics' to the Amen artillery of Sykes' 'Exit' via Veak's wild sub soaker 'Rebel' and Bring The Beat Mack's party-blazing 'Oh My Gosh', this collection digs deep across the board giving a lot of hugely talented artist a platform and spotlight. Review: Harley D continues to flex the freakiest of manoeuvres right here on Low Down Deep as 'Monsters' goes in on the weird funk vibes, all squelchy and mutated. It's in the very best of company as the D-meister licks up all kinds of shots: 'Back To The Future' is a militant screechy stepper, 'Bang' goes all sci-fi funk and fury, 'Automatic' brings a little Daft Punkian nod to the vibe while 'Trouble Maker' ends on a ruff and curmudgeonly one. Here we find him match ready with some of his sharpest cuts, each one sculpted to end boss proportions. Review: The currently unstoppable Harley D flips the switch and goes super deep for this exceptional EP on Classified. Usually throwing around mad energy and big riff dynamics, 'In The Darkness' shows the other side of the UK south coast talent as he strips things right back to a place of tension throughout the EP. The title track is all about those big deep rumbling subs, 'Tracers' gets a purring contemporary neuro growl on while 'Questions' plays good cop/ bad cop with your soul, brain and dancing feet. Other highlights include the skippy momentum and tension of 'Believe' and the unabashed glacial grizzles of 'Ice'. In the badness.

Review: Grid Recordings have been on a bit of a roll of late, bringing together vibrant new compilation projects on quite a regular basis with this latest, fifth volume of their 'That's What We Call Bass!' collection sitting as a super potent weapon. We begin with the nauseating LFO punts of 'I Try' from Jenks (UK) & 7Age, giving us a gritty introductory piece, followed by the super bouncy drum techniques of Pa's 'Blood Clart' and the dissonant, metallic bass sweeps of 'Perfection' from Harley D. Next up, Zeba arrives for and old school shack out on 'Trump Bone', a super melodic exploration into synthesis, chased up by Muzo's more subtle synthetic sweep approach on 'Funky Bits' and some temple slapping 808 action on Burntboi's 'Pull It'. Finally, two last gasp heaters, with Jfal & Twisted Individual linking up for the system-busting synth pulses of 'Window Shifter' and then Whisper's swirling finale in 'Don't Be A Fool', one final synth-driven switch up to slap the project closed. Awesome!

Review: There's no stopping Harley D right now as he lays down these monthly murky sermons on a whole array of labels ranging from Serial Killaz to his forthcoming missive on the mighty Crucast. Right now though he's on OnlyDrums with five examples of absolute bassline blazery. Highlights range from the sudden switches and shocking 4x4 finale of 'Crisis Zone' to the trippier, bad dream flexes of 'Hide N Seek'. Elsewhere 'Critical Condition' hits hard with the big steppy slaps and 'Jump' sees him linking up with Konetix on a rifle-like 2012-flavoured jam. Critical by name, critical by nature.

Review: Bubbling under the surface and honing his craft for several years, Harley D has come into his own in recent times with killer thumper bumpers on Serial Killaz, Cre8 and now another one here for Bristol's Invicta Audio. The Views EP features the neurofunk attitude of the title track, the dark cinematic atmosphere of "Run Away" (VIP) which is reminiscent of classic Photek, while the emotive steppa "Ardour" provides something deeper as does the intelligent drum 'n' bass of "Vision".

Review: Greasier than a biker's helmet, oilier than a hell's angel's leather waistcoat, Harley D revs up his engines once again for riff slap-abouts. Linking with Burnzy on the lead, 'Say Nothing' brings a deeper lyrical edge Harley hasn't shown too much of so far but hopefully will show more of in the future. Elsewhere the young UK talent gets jiggy with the razor sharp bass textures as the likes of 'Switch' goes all euphoric, 'This Is' brings in human textures on the fills for added funk while 'What You Gonna Do' ends the EP on a roughhousing jungle vibe with more big vocal elements and some grizzly breakbeat flow.
