Review: More moody and brooding main room techno excursions from the ever reliable Senso Sounds camp. Matter of fact, It's harbour city sorrow all the way on 5Y, under adopted Hamburger Oliver Huntemann's careful curation - celebrating a a strong half decade in the business. Surrender to the void on label staple Andre Winter's sub bass snarler "Carte Noir", Maksim Dark from Russia truly signals the end of days on "Mega Pulse", Shaded who traded the sunny shores of Los Angeles for the black beach is on form with the slinky hypnotiser "I Got Haters" or trance out to the bleak mentalism of Carlo Ruetz' "Thunder" while Distale's "Hooka" will get your tunnel vision on with intoxicating style.

Review: Oliver Huntemann's Senso Sounds returns with more brooding dance floor drama coming at you straight out of the Reeperbahn. Featuring the highly engineered minimal tech house of label staple Hatzler on "High Noon", Sicilian sonic magician Paul Ursin delivers the hypnotic and suspense filled journey track "Space Race" (which could have equally been at home on a label like Life & Death) and then they go out all guns blazing with the druggy and tunnelling strobe-lit monster "Modul" by Cachette - where the Belgian duo employ some mid noughties style ping-pong delays in the tradition of Minus and SCI + TEC releases of the time. It's been a great year for Huntemann's label with the release of his full length entitled Propaganda, in addition to some killer dance floor fodder by the likes of Julian Wassermann, Victor Ruiz and fellow Hamburger Andre Winter.

Review: Hatzler only has a few releases to his credit, but as Another Life demonstrates, he is clearly destined for great things. "Collider" is a big room affair, its pumping groove underpinning metallic riffs, rave stabs and percussive blasts. The end result is an ominous but undeniably accessible arrangement. On the title track, the German producer draws on the legacy of artists as varied as Timo Maas and Thomas Heckmann to create a menacing techno-trance workout that is destined for peak time festival usage - its stroboscopic stabs and gnarly bass guarantees it. The remixes come from Metodi Hristov - who adds some pumping techno attitude to "Life" - and Citizen Kain & Kiko's linear take on "Collider", but neither can touch the original versions.
