Review: Co Lab have had a real whale of a time of it over the last 20 years, with this fabulous offering from across their long standing roster being just a dip into the depth they have provided the scene over the last two decades. Covering a wide range of sounds, we see the more neurotic side of drum & bass on display within Dunk's 'Voodoo Song' and the A-Audio & Anya Asia link up named 'I'll Come Back', next to the more classic junglist flavour of Bladerunner & Heists 'Street Beats' in close pursuit. This is a package stuffed to the brim with rave-ready gems, with highlights including the old school drum slices of Aries & Nicky Blackmarket's 'Respect', next to the super unpredictable bass warbles of Jeaopardize's 'Hindsight'.

Review: Everyone over at the Low Down Deep Recordings camp must know they have landed on an absolute winner of a two-tracker with this one as the legendary production mastery of Heist delivers two blistering original creations. We open up with 'Shaolin Fools', a mind-melting crunch of lethal bass designs and old school vocal samples, giving us a weapon that is sure to cause serious damage in any dancefloor setting. Next, 'Speed Fist' unloads a super original piece of synth design as the higher pitched, owl-like LFO's lead the track atop an intense drum line and smooth sub section, giving us a very nicely paired drop indeed.

Review: Spreading the positive vibes for well over 20 years now, D&B solider Heist lays down pure gold with this epic spread on Logan D's Low Down Deep. He's in good company on the title track, too, as Inja brings the wise words on 'Good Over Evil' before Jim goes solo for the rest of EP, slamming down bubblers and bruiers alike. 'Beg For Your Lives' is a tremendous highlight with its big splashy drums and twisted vocal sample, elsewhere 'Drop The Gun' goes full-on stripped back and bumping and 'Light Speed' is all about that wobble. Evilly good!

A reminder (if needed) that he deals strictly in timeless dancefloor weaponry, he's got every flavour your set could possibly need from the subtle jazzy class of 'Rum Goblin' to the high voltage nuclear outrage of 'Unicron' and everything in between. Whats more, they're timeless and whether they came out in 2005 (the sax-blasting pant-wetting 'Pum Pum Stabber') 2015 (the creeped out warbler '90% Rusk') or 2021 (the sweet soulful 'Watermelon Girl') they all hit with the same subversive and solid sense of funk. Probably not but for the sake of hype, respect and pure love for the music we'll tell you how much this EP should mean to all jungle and dnb heads... Heist is a long time legend who's about to celebrate 20 years in the game and V Recordings have been on this, shaping and guiding the sound and culture since day one. This is a long-overdue match in banger heaven and it's full of heaving workouts. Highlights include the swooning emotion and slamming beats of 'Just Called' and the jazzy too-and-froe of the title track 'Harlots'. Vibes!

Review: Introducing the sounds of The Usual Suspects Part 1, a radical attempt to create jump-up so splintered and broken you'll barely recognise it. This is pure party music, there's no time for sophisticated conversations about its merits because you'll be too busy dancing to it. Sota's 'Pumper's epitomizes the extent of the madness here, with a punched-out percussive line that underpins a grating force of progression and anger, perfectly crafted to give you goosebumps in the dance. The metallic quality to 'Bring It' is another highlight, and it's safe to say that with these five tunes, Sota, Supreme Being, Heist, Complex and The Force have done a wicked job. Big tunes.

Review: Heist is showing he can do it all and staying true to his name across five sumptuously deep rollers that will tickle the itch of any liquid head who likes things sophisticated. It's Liquid Lab, after all, and the standards are high. 'Watermelon Girl' is top quality, with gorgeously warm instrumentation that provides a backdrop of instrumentation to the soulful vocal sample and delightfully crisp drum work. It's a subtle track with oodles of character. 'End Game' is light as can be, with a touchin, rolling bassline that morphs into a wobbling sub bass, whilst 'Back To Hers' is more of the ethereal style we've come to expect from Liquid Lab. Gorgeous.

Review: Fair play it's been an impressive run from DJ Warden's Bagged & Tagged this year, despite the rona working its wicked way with 2020. Following massive EPs from the likes of Total Recall, BlckHry and Obbley & Maze the label now hits with its biggest release to date... An all-star remix EP featuring the likes of Heist, Nu Elementz, Slipz and D-Nasty. All off them given the green light to go nuts on some of the label's most distinctive cuts so far.
