Review: Phunkation presents a rather special collection of peak-time floor burners with their Best Of Hardgroove compilation. You can always trust on these guys to deliver the goods and get the masses dancing, but this time they've hit the big time, including tracks such as "Dancefloor Machine Funk" by Aimless Audio as their opener, DJ Ogi's trance-ridden "Ekran" or even "Audio Phunk" by F Tek - a rolling, penetrating techno banger. The majority of the tracks are hard-hitting and to the point, much like "Captain Future" by Homma Honganji, but there's traces of funkiness and deepness in there, like "The Good Way" by Sirius Brown or even Xenex's infamous "Aztec", a relentless party-time bomb that's representative of the energy surrounding this much needed collection of chest-bursters.

Review: Big tribal techno from Japanese DJ Homma Hongaji, who keeps a pounding beat locked together with some rattling snares for an unflinching, percussion-only energy burst. The Mirzinho mix takes it even further, adding even more layers of maracas and huge marching band bass drums for a completely stomping experience, while Fer BR reigns things in a little and still produces a quality chunk of jump-up techno.
