Review: Following releases for Second State and Charlotte De Witte's KNTXT, Indira Paganotto delivers a killer EP for Artco. "Jambo" sees her merge Spanish guitars with ethereal chants over a throbbing groove - making for a distinctive, memorable combination. On the title track, she drops a driving rhythm and cavernous filters, with this fusion acting as the backdrop for a mysterious, wailing vocal. In contrast, "Angara Bebesi" is more visceral; stomping kicks, a frenetic rhythm and grinding buzzsaw riffs are combined to create a peak-time monster. "Uzi" maintains this fast pace, and sees the Spanish artist deploy a brooding bass and a range of vocal and animal samples to devastating effect.
Review: Keeping sub-Goa and acid trance roots firmly intact is one Indira Paganotto who brings her fully fledged rave sound to Charlotte De Witte's KNTXT label. Channelling basslines from a classic trance era while keep deeply inspired by classic acid techno, there's something undeniably fresh and unique about the four tracks on display here. With cut up vocals and tunnelling basslines a feature throughout Himalaya, get your breathy trance textures from the title-track, next to techy percussive tips in "Sultans Of Mountains". With acid tearing its way through this EP all the more, "Takeshi" burns with more of a synthy tip, while "Cobra" really shoots the breeze that lost ravers in a forest dream about. Trance record of the year!
Review: Indira Paganotto makes her debut on Second State with an impressive, high-octane release. The title track is powered by fast-paced kicks and percussion, but is still nuanced, with Paganotto deploying vocal snippets and eastern musical elements. On "Magnetic Pulse", the Artcore Records boss goes deeper to conjure up a wall of dubbed out static, which is then combined with a lean, linear rhythm. Meanwhile, both "Katana" and "Cyber Slaves" are stripped back, tripped out techno tracks that will sound devastating in the mix. Second State has also tapped Shlomi Aber to remix the title track and he doesn't disappoint, delivering a tripped out, pulsating groove powered by layers of steely percussion.
