Review: Next up from the After Dark Music crew, a spicy collection of dungeon-driven heat from the one they called Inertia, giving us a dreamscape-inducing mix of bass and drum. We begin with 'Set It Off' a highly intense roller, fusing huge-system driven subs with bubbling dub delays and spring like drums, before 'Runaway Dub' takes us even deeper with a stripped back, half-time whomper. Next, 'Affinity' gives us another creepy roller, focussing on clicky drums and intense synthesiser lines, before both the alien-like LFO belches of 'Counteraction' and heavily filtered sub bubbles of 'Meditate' takes us to an entirely different dimension, unleashing a serious beast to say the least.

Review: We love to see new music from the Macabre Unit team, a solidified imprint with dubstep and grime who very rarely seem to get it wrong. They've hit the nail on this head with this three tracker from Inertia, who kicks us off with the almost satanic, choir-like pad textures and choppy drum structures of the title track 'Stronghold', before 'Parasite' leads us down into the subby depths for a dungeon-ready roller, jam-packed with writhing reese tones from from start to finish. Finally, 'The Infected' lets loose a much more punchy set of drum sounds in combination with swampy bass tones to rund this one out in style!

Review: Soundia & Plastiks' Blackhill Production imprint has been steadily sculpting a stark sound and MO for nearly six years, consistently excavating deep, restrained and futuristic constructions. Review: The next release from Phunkfiction comes from Inertia who takes no prisoners in this two-part smasher. Getting things off to a distinctly dark and dirty start is "Full Scale" with its grimy soundscape, grating, stabbing bass tones and terse, stuttering beats, it's an aural treat ready to be consumed. A midway breakdown adds a spaced out dreaminess to the piece, until the darkness returns. Accompanying this is "Inspector" which ups the ante with its more sparse and minimal approach, characterized by chiming SFX, pattering beats and a disconcerting echoey soundscape.
