Review: Inigo Kennedy is techno's undisputed king of the broken beat and the swung rhythm - and his latest release on Asymmetric provides a timely reminder of his capabilities. "Eidetic Imprints" is a melodic affair, with Kennedy teasing introspective melodies over a fractured groove. He further explores this sound on the serene, atmospheric "Nebula", while on "Corrugation" he ventures into a woozy, downtempo path. In contrast, the title track sees him deploy a dense, rolling techno affair, while "Repeater" is a stepping workout that resounds to snapping percussion and a lean metallic rhythm. Keeping the listener guessing till the end, he drops the mellow, home-listening techno of
"Trypophobia".
