Review: Hands up who loves a little foundation flavour? Then look no further and DJ Uniques and Agent K team up with a whole bundle of timeless sounds. 'This Sound' taps into the classic Bristol flavour with its bouncy groove and cheeky energy. Further on we're tickled in all the sweet spots by the rumbling subs of 'Thunder Bolt', we're hammered by the gritty ruffage of 'Mission Face' and boosted by pure rave euphoria and the gully bassline slinkiness of their remix of Instag8's 'Release Me'. Review: Three straight up drum and bass infusions here from Instag8 with the Nasty EP. With several outings on labels like Dutty Bass Audio, Raw Motion and Drum Lab, the artist arrives at Maad Ting to present a full palette of club sounds. Pushing a largely liquid tip, you'll find sweet and ethereal touches of dub techno chords in "Nasty" hidden behind flashes of dubstep that soon give away to tear out drum and bass. "Rude Boy" keeps it minimal and dry before delving into a sweet and melodic jazz refrain, while "Falling" embraces heavy hitting jungle next to deeper liquid rhythms, synths and textures. Totally mad and nasty EP, no doubt. Word.

Review: Last month Instag8 was going 'Psycho' on Drum Lab. The month before he was begging we listened to him on Kevlar. Now he's taken our brain to other 'Dimensions' on this new Raw Motion tear-up. 'Crazy' sets the tone with its rattling Serum style snares and curmudgeonly basses while other highlights include the rough and the smooth of the feel-heavy 'My Love' and the well-restrained soul, grit and depth of the finale 'Torn Apart'. Pay close to attention to the twilight strikes of the title, too. Heavyw8.

Review: Instag8 has arrived on Drum Lab Audio with his Psycho EP, as you can probably tell from the name of the label it's coming out on, it's a seriously murky bit of work. You think that from the start of the first track, which leads you in with a luscious bit of synth work which quickly devolves into a pummelling expression of force. The rest of the release is powered by the same relentlessness and 'Another Badboy' carries an expansive back end that undergirds a sequence of menacing sounds and tones whilst 'I'm Rolling' possibly has the most creative bassline on the release in a wicked display of dancefloor heat. Sick stuff.

Review: Instag8 and Dutty Bass Audio have been teasing this album for several weeks now and the full thing is finally here. It's punching percussive madness the whole way through, a no-holds barred album which knows when to go all out and when to take a step back. There's luxurious instrumentation blended with grittier tones and 'Release Me' is exactly that, as vocal lines tug on your heart strings above a gully concoction of dusty basses and knock-back drum loops. There is old school techstep vibes on the roughness of 'Dealing With', a twisted rolling vibe on 'Girl Dem', and a reggae stepper to finish on 'Kiss Me Baby'. Sick stuff.

Review: Next up from the Audio Overload gang we jump into this well thought out four track selection from Jedi & Instag8, who deliver a range of flavours with some very well welcomed guests. We begin our journey with Instag8's 'Angels', a sizzling system smashing bounce, combining angelic vocal lines with lethal bass processing and high energy breaks, before Jedi brings a much more jump up-inspired synthetic approach with his remix. Following this, Jedi joins forces with Licks Latore for 'One Girl', an LFO driven ball of bassy madness, topped with euphoric pad lines and well processed rhythmic ideas. To round off, Instag8 sends this one to the chopping block with his mash up remix, layering in numerous lazer-like synthesizer lines to add an extra layer of intensity throughout.

Review: Terrible times call for 'Terrible Creatures'. The type of critters that creep all over you and burrow into your soul so deep they become part of you. Just like these tunes. The latest batch from the ever-ready banger machine Instag8, each cut runs circles round you and bites down hard. The sharp-toothed brass stabs and sneering bassline on 'Stronger', the slithering python-like squeeze 'Many Dayz' has on your loins, the growling, restrained menace of the bass one 'Come Alive'. Each of these tracks, and the rest of the EP, creeping over you, burrowing into your soul. Terrible times m8.

Review: Strength in numbers! The ever-heavy, ever-ready Dubstomp 2 Bass family unite once again for the second instalment of their DS2B Collective series. Familiar faces all the way as we're reminded of how forthright and firesome the label's output is; Jedi brings his signature dancefloor weight and trippiness with cuts like "Donald Duck", DEEb brings the emotions and subversive dynamics with and Falco's epic "Hysteria", Lowlife gets twisted with his moaning, groaning basslines with his contributions (especially "The Other Side") while newcomer Mudlark follows up his single earlier this summer with the almighty trouser-blazer "Be A Mudlark". And that's just the tip of this gully iceberg.

Review: Last spotted sending us some very strong signals on Raw Motion, super prolific producer Instag8 lands on Dutty Bass Audio and he's offering us a one way ticket into the unknown... The journey kicks off with lonely guitar twangs and eerie weirdness of the title track before we're hurled in a bloodclart riot with "The Roughest". Deeper into the trip we continue to get intoxicated by the devilish bassline on "It's Poison" before the restrained hum and gentle musicianship of "Reasons" brings us to a dark soul conclusion. Make yourself unknown.

Review: Raw Motion puts out music that, unsurprisingly, is raw in motion and powerful in its flow, and that's the mission statement that Instag8 is abiding by on this one, a large six-track EP that's larger than life from start to finish. It kicks off with the title tune, 'Signals', with a deeply suspenseful intro that reminds us slightly of a movie trailer, before its spins out into acidic notes and a flowing, explosive arrangement powered by punching, gusty drums. The other highlight of the release is 'SNIFF', which also packs a superbly tight introduction full of tumbling breaks and eerie pads, which bolt out the stable on the drop and transform into something flowing, expertly crafted and club ready to the extreme. Unmissable.

Review: Hot on the heels of his Raw Motion single earlier this month - and having a pretty prolific year in general, let's be fair - young Instag8 returns to D2B with two of his murkiest muck-flinging pieces to date. "Dangerous Killer" is a real low swinger. Knuckle scuffing bassline, rolling loose drums and precision spoken samples; it's a case of total murderation. "Jungle War" is similarly impressive. Once again, the mood is sinister, the arrangement is minimal and soundboys will get hurt when these are dropped. You've won the battle... Now win the war.

Review: Instigation across the nation; Instag8 and Colchester veteran MC J.O.K tag up for a clutch of cold hard truths on Raw Motion. "Spark It" lights the fire with dreamy chords then the grottiest intro this side of the sewage works. It's followed by plenty more vitriolic funk: "Bomb Threat" is a heavy pressure alien stepper, "Trust Me" is much more spaced out, warped and slinky while Jedi joins the fray for the finale cut "Stranger Things", a track so dramatic and dark it'll have you heading for the upside down before you can say Demogorgon.

Review: Instag8's Deeper EP on Raw Motion isn't one of those releases for people who like to sit back, sip on a mug of matured whisky and debate the stylistic evolution of music. It's not about pretention, it's about having a good time and for that purpose it's ideally suited. Six tracks full of dancefloor vigour, Instag8 has achieved his presumed goal of making music that'll get people moving. 'Deeper' has that Souped Up-esque forcefulness to its basslines, that torn, ripping feel that only a proper foghorn will get you; 'Get Through This' hits that suspense in the build perfectly, leading in the snapping drums underneath something very special.

Review: Instag8 has landed on Audio Overload, with a sick little double sider that represents several parts of the dnb scene. 'Dont Hurt Me' opens with steppy drums that pan out underneath a peng sense of ambience, but the serenity of the opener gives way on the drop to something a lot more expansive and dark, tying the knot on a quality. Classic jump up vibes abound on the B-side - 'For You Mind' - but their upbeat nature doesn't stop the guys from sneaking in a naughty, pitched-up back end and loads of wobbly goodness in there that underpins the track and gives it a nice weight. Solid single.

Review: Instag8 has absolutely smashed this one. Brand new on Audio Overload Jungle, Bump & Grind is a minimal collection of forceful tones and subby wobbles, each track has this funky, stepping feel to it and there are some seriously dirty bass touches. 'Breather' is exactly that, with a jungley but excessively clean drum line, this track just rolls out and out with a wicked progression that takes you on a tour through futuristic, grating soundscapes. It's a sick release with some classic sampling flavours in there as well, especially on the title tune. Love stuff.
