Review: Part two of the Nuusic anniversary celebration, and the halfway point is just as good as the first instalment. It's more of the label's most standout tracks from the last three years, and Conrad Subs' 'Little Vibey Thing' is right up there with the best of them, a swing-heavy vocal-led jungle number that's formed of swelling bass touches, crunchy drum lines and a nonchalant gem of a vocal, one that's halfway between hip-hop and soul. Margaman's 'Teach The Roots' is a masterclass in simple vibes, with a clean percussive centre and edges that wallow in bassy reggae, all of which is deliciously built into a crescendo with a superb build-up. Proper dancefloor stuff.

Review: EPs don't get more diverse and dancefloor ready than this one from Jak, who has roped in Mofes and Kumo to help him craft his devilishly made club-friendly sounds. Rather than a copy-paste exercise, Nuusic and Jak are living up to their reputations by bringing four unique, differentiated cuts to the table. 'Siren' feat Kumo is the pick of the bunch, as a rolling Break-esque drum line cuts through a sparsely arranged but effectively spacious array of Sofa Sound-type bass nodes. Proper sick, and there's clicky tech funk on 'Snow', jump-up force on 'Lace Up' and sub-heavy, sine-wobbling goodness on 'Akimbo'. Big.

Review: Over on Juno regular Sub-Division Recordings, Zoner and Alex SLK are being given the remix treatment in a really cool, well put-together single that'll please heads from all sides of the scene. The first comes from Alex SLK himself, and he's flipped the original into a brooding, creeping piece of music that feels cold, tight and packed with latent aggression just waiting to emerge. The flip wears its heart slightly more in its sleeve, as JAK UK rolls out 'The Revolution' amidst a flowing arrangement of bouncing sine stabs and carving bass patches. Wicked.

Review: Fresh D&B in the house courtesy of newcomer Jak! Having only previously appeared before on Welsh label Incurzion through a collaboration with Concept One, Jak's solo debut for Audio Addict brings with it two extra collabs with Nautika and bossman DJ Hybrid. Receiving some personalised cover art in the process, Jak opens with the skippy, almost fidget-touched, half-time rave number "Back Around". Deep atmospheres enter the void when the first drop hits in "Dubplate Pulse" (and "Spawner") with the humming edge of Jak's basslines turning into something of a roar in the ambient pastures of "The Lion". Bouncier dub and reggae vibes in "Bun It Up" too matched by "Obstruction" only to be stripped back for some extra jungle percussion to make its way to the front of the mix.
