Review: Invicta have been making some serious waves the past year or so and with a growing recognition that they're one of the best labels releasing a consistent slew of music, they're celebrating their evolution with a multi-part LP. This is the first instalment and a whole crew is on things with a six-tracker of frightening proportions, packed full of solid percussive strikes and flowing basslines. 'Dance Girl' has a seriously funky rhythmic pattern and a slick array of basslines, whilst 'Life' takes things in a funkier direction with ragga sampling and a fluid concoction of sub-heavy bass magic. There are also more melancholic, deeper sounds, as B-Plexx nails the liquid vibe on 'Too High' - top.

Review: Sticky-icky-icky! The JTs are back from their Sao Paulo kitchen and they're packing some of the tangiest, sharpest fusions you could ever spread over a dance. Highlights across this sweet sextet include the bluesy twangs and industrial strength drums of "Next Generation", the frazzled, loose-drum space voyage with Fre4knc "3rd Dal Universe", low-blowing groans of "Get Out Of The Way" where there's not even so much room for a please and the blink-and-miss neuro twists on the rattling sub-shaking Playaz homage "Brooklyn". Review: Sao Paulo, Brazil must pump soul into their maternity wards. The rate their young producers are stepping forward with classy, timeless, soulful drum & bass, there surely isn't another explanation. Perhaps young Sao Paulians are encouraged to take liquid funk evening classes? Either way, it's working for them. Jam Thieves return to the dancefloor with a couple of cool, collected rollers, helping to ease the world back into the summer party mindset. "Cosa Nostra" fills each and every crevice with warm, resonating sounds, arching high above a deep, rolling bassline. "After The Dance" on the other hand is a sleek and jazzy break-filled trip back to the old-school; plenty of interest, plenty of texture. A gorgeous release from two very promising producers.

Review: Jungle Cakes always tend to put out music that rests on the foundations of UK underground, the cross-over influences of soul, reggae, jungle and D&B. it's always a fresh sound and it always brings up connotations of Boomtown, free parties and sunny afternoons. This is a monster album curated by Aries and Kelvin 373, who have taken tracks both old and new to form a banging compilation. Bou nails it on 'Music Takes Me Higher', a rustic revisit to classic jungle sounds; Aries and Nicky Blackmarket roll things out in a tight way on 'Champion'; and Chimpo slams the brakes on 'DidDieDoThat'. We don't know the answer to that, but we do know this is fat. Big ups.

Review: Now rolling solo, Jam Thieves continues to hurl bassline muck around the place, this time on Serum & Benny V's Souped Up. 'Bogota' is a stripped back vocal piece with an unyielding tech-teased bassline that belongs in a high security space weapons stockade while 'Don't Kill' takes us even deeper into the jam pot with very sleek and contemporary futurist paranoia. Darker than usual Souped Up flavours but still a perfect ingredient for any sets where the wobs are heavy on the gaf.

Review: Something exceedingly warm and slippery right here on Dispatch... Jam Thieves gets deep across four system-primed tracks. 'Bling Run' just oozes dark funk but keeps things reined in at all times. 'Spike' takes that notion to an even deeper level, going in on a stripped back subby warm funk that could be compared to Sir Skeppy. Deeper again 'Sunday' purrs like some type of robotic leopard, ready to pounce on its prey before 'Boomerang' closes the EP with a barking bass texture that's constantly evolving in a really clever way. This will definitely keep coming back to you.

Review: "City On Fire" wastes no time - the deep punch of kick drums and bass hit hard right from the off like a blast to the chest. Jam Thieves leave no prisoners with this release, as each track tests the strengths of their experiments. "The Ghetto" screeches with hard frequency compression and sub grumbles, "Hustler" neatly delivers a drop to shatter craniums and "Alcatraz" follows up with a dark stepper of a slightly different kind, made to snap necks and shuffle trainers in the dark. Review: Sao Paulo's Jam Thieves are back and they mean business. The duo are drum and bass experts and it seems like the whole city has been affected by the genre. "Crazy Clown" is a rolling, growling break-ridden melter that you know will go down a storm on any sort of soundsystem, big or small. "Sexy Baby" is straighter; its breaks more bare and minimalistic and it's that familiar siren sound which sticks out. Madness.

Review: The mighty Electrikal Soundsystem power up a brand new label operation and they're launching in style as Jam Thieves takes the honour of the launch release. Two powerful, stripped-back techy slammers, first up is 'Different Wave', a purring, shiny slab of badness featuring a sharp-tongued narrative from rising MC Kori Roze, it's a deeper cut than we usually see from the Brazilian conserve snatcher. 'Tic Tac' brings up the rear with similar intent but on an instrumental flex. Groaning, weaving and sizzling with bass weight, this was tailor made for Electrikal's famous rig. Get wavey.
