Every track is a banger but you'd be mad not to check Crom and Rider Shafique's theatrical slap-about 'Change', Xav's mind-blowing shock-out '1993', Mrs Magoo & DJ Hybrid's stripped-back and purring 'Back To 96' and the absolutely foul behaviour of Kumarachi & Epicentre with 'Patterns'. Review: It appears that the Ghetto Dub Recordings team has assembled one hell of a roster for this one as they unleash the fully unmixed version of the Dubz: ReRubbed album project, allowing us to enjoy each and every tune in its full majesty. We find the perfect balance of high intensity dancefloor danger and more stripped back rollers throughout the compilation, from the Phibes remix of Wrecked from Vinyl Junkie & Sanxion giving us a gritty, synth lead smackdown to the much more junglist inspired recreation of Java's 'Screwface' from Aries. There are a few standouts throughout this eclectic selection, including Epicentre's monstrous sub-driven rework of 'We Up There' from Bill & Ed, alongside Veak's neurotic overhaul of Subcriminal's 'Mack 10' and the system rattling recreation of Flat T's 'Proceedings Closed' from Durban. What a selection this is!

Review: If you're looking for frantic, high intensity breakbeats then Deep in the Jungle is one of the most reliable destinations. Their back catalogue proves this beyond all doubt, and this latest four-tracker from Java is more evidence, if it was even needed. Jungle is on a big hype right now and Java's approach ticks all the boxes whilst remaining unique, from its driving percussion, to its ragga sampling and bouncing basslines. 'Rudeboy' has serious clash vibes, with clattering breaks that just won't quit and a rave atmosphere that will leave you gagging for the dancefloor, a heady approach that respects the contours of the genre's history. The final track - 'Skylarking' - is the other standout, with a superbly wobbling bassline that is made for a system and designed to give you a bass face. Another wicked addition to the collection.

Review: KLP Records are turning 25, a crazy achievement that puts them right up there with Metalheadz et al, and so they're celebrating with a big compilation of tunes. Nicky Blackmarket, Klips & Outlaw kick things off on remix duties for DJ Monk's Touch Me, Tease Me. It's a classic combination of artists and the end result is equally timeless, with a sense of vocal softness descending into hard percussive knocks and grating jump-up synth work. It sets the tone for the rest of the album, which features contributions from Dublic, DJ QT, DJ Vapour and a load more. Unbelievable.

Review: Java is on Hazardous Musik this Easter, with a sick little double sider that full represents several parts of the dnb scene. 'All My Loce opens with steppy drums that pan out underneath a peng sense of ambience, but the serenity of the opener gives way on the drop to something a lot more expansive and dark, tying the knot on a quality. Classic old school vibes abound on the B-side - 'Versatile' - but their upbeat nature doesn't stop Java from sneaking in a naughty, pitched-up back end in there that underpins the track and gives it a nice weight. Solid single.

Fresh from the stashes of SR, Kumarachi, Aries, Vinyl Junkie, Conrad Subs, Octo Pi and many more on-point junglists across the generations, many of these tracks are brand new and all of them are heavier than a night down the Weight Watchers. Highlights include Conrad Sub's skanky groaner "Good As Gold", Jaguar Paw's utter filth session "Southside", Jay Aftermath's gnarly tech/soundsystem hybrid "The Jungle" and the pure rave purrs of Vinyl Junkie & Sanxion's "Outlandish"... But that's not even touching the sides of the fifty track attack. Dig deep and get rolling.

Review: One thing that we were certainly thankful for in 2018 was the abundance of high-quality jungle riddims, which were two-a-plenty all year. In 2019 the march looks set to continue and Killa Dubz are making an early contribution with this sheller of an EP from Java, an archetypal collection of broken notes and bassy tones. There's a real sense of musicality in the sampling, exemplified by 'All Girls', but this doesn't overshadow the dancefloor readiness of these tunes and the impact they have. You've only got to listen to the raucous drums on 'Dub Riddim' to hear that. Something for everyone here.

Review: In terms of legendary status for labels over on the jungle/jump-up side of the scene, it's pretty hard to beat Serial Killaz. Run by the duo of the same name, the imprint has arrived with the second instalment of their mixtape series and it's unsurprisingly good. Full of big tunes from guys like Serial Killaz themselves, Vital Elements and Upgrade, it's the latter of these guys that takes the cake with 'Steel Drum'. You've probably heard this one doing the rounds and it's actually already been released, but oh boy what a tune this is: a screaming, siren-lake mash of grating metallic synths and punching drums all come together to make an unstoppably good piece of music. Don't sleep on the rest of these tunes though, and a special mention goes to DJ Hybrid's 'Beatbox' - naught jungle vibes.

Ripping into the year in the same spirit they shredded 2016 with, DITJ have delivered something serious special here as some of modern jungle's finest creative minds: the never-failing DJ Hybrid slams the hammer down with the enormous VIP of "What Else", RMS continues his rich vein of form with some dagger-like samplecraft on the dancehall scorching "Burning Up", Section conjures up the spirit of Raindance past with some crafty drum-dicing "Black Magic" while Evade will turn you inside out on his trippy-assed amen omen "Reverse"... And that's just four of over thirty moments. Trust... We can't stress how massive this is.
