Review: It's been a long time coming, but after a long run of exciting single drop, Night Bass founder and all around dance music legend: AC Slater lands on his home imprint for a brand new album project. The project features the previously released single 'Final Fantasy' but as a club mix alongside a bag of incredible collaborative additions, including Dread MC, Jay Robinson, Chris Lorenzo, Murkage Dave, Taiki Nulight and more. With twelve tracks of the highest quality, AC has really set the bar super high, with particular highlights including the high energy collaboration with Jack Beats, Sinden and Flowdan entitled 'Boss Like That', along with the tasty house tones of 'Feeling Awake'.

Review: Four huge funky/garage house tunes come out of their corners fighting on this latest volume of Trouble & Bass' EP series. Label boss Drop The Lime kicks things off in style with the clattering snares of "Thwomp Stomp" - one of the most apt names for a tune in a long time. While DTL's contribution is kept deliberately bare, Baobinga's "Make It Drop" is riddled with looped hip-hop vocals, with the beat cutting perfectly into a half-step for the verses. Star Eyes & Pharaoh lace "Cry Baby" with female vocals and plenty of low-filter bass, while the chopped and pitch-shifted vocals of Jay Robinson & Supabeatz's "Screech" is probably the highlight - thoroughly unique sounds and as funky as hell!

Review: FooR celebrate four years in the business. They are are a UK collective of producers, musicians, DJs, and MCs at the forefront of the current UK Garage revival. The four-piece have also become UK garage's fastest rising stars on the live circuit, and are being championed by some of the scene's biggest names 'Friends Of FooR' was their first commercially available mixtape, following 2017's Pure Garage mix album. Hailing from Southampton and fronted by Gavin Foord, Aki, MC Jukie and Tyrone - they have all been friends for 15 years - literally since they were kids. Once they hit their teens they started making music together and then throwing parties, first locally, and then across the south coast.

Review: If FooR were to put together a studio album, where else could it be other than their legendary home imprint of YosH. As an album 'Friends Of FooR' is a collection of high profile collaborations from the bass house giants, including both production features and high energy vocal additions. Our favourites include the swordplay duo with Endor, the skippy house textures of 'Bad Man' alongside Jay Robinson and Dekar artist' and of course the triple threat rinse out of 'Black Bandana' which features Killa P, Irah and Long Range.

Review: There we were, thoroughly enjoying Welsh DJ Jay Robinson's brand of doomy bass heavy house, when he disappears for ages! Now he's back with all fists flying on the Fight Music EP. There are three ferociously pissed off tunes here for the harder dancefloors out there. Opener "Dogfight" ducks and weaves with instrumental breaks, big breaks and some seriously growling bass. Elsewhere "Kombat Dub" is a taught and techy affair littered with video game samples and finally "Choker" is a straight out thumper with a bassline that's more likely to chew your leg off than ever fetch your paper!

Review: Night Bass is very protective of Welsh wonder kid Jay Robinson, whom they have helped nurture from the get go. So, it's no wonder that they're thrilled to announce this latest three track EP from the guy (his forth in total for the label). "Hussle" sees producer JM help contribute to this thumpin' big room gritty house monster. Next up "Heiss" is bouncy tech house with extra bottom end and finally the best of the lot is sleazy growler "SWYMGY", which also features labelmate Dillon Nathaniel on extra production duties.

Review: Rising Welsh DJ/producer Jay Robinson has made himself right at home with the Night Bass label, here presenting his third EP for the imprint. If ain't broke and all that. There are four turbo charged bass pounders packed on to this release, starting with the bad man bounce of opener "Fury". Next is the creepy, bleepy shuffle of "The Model", before he gets his wobble out on the skippy "Red Dot". Lastly he wraps things up with the UKG-informed "The Start", which is actually the end, but Robinson never plays by the rules.

Review: The Nightbass domination continues as long term bass revolutionary Jay Robinson puts together 'The Return' EP. In typical Jay fashion, the EP is outstanding and serves as a real lesson in rhythmic prowess. The title track A darkened demon, focused on lofi drum work and crunchy bass synths. This is followed by the funky grooves of 'Falling Upwards' and the monstrous lead synth design of 'The Ripper'. The EP is then finalized in style as the horn-like synths of 'The Melodic Weapon' take the reigns, driving this roller forward. This is a top project as ever from Jay Robinson and Night Bass look set to continue this incredible run of releases well into 2018 and beyond.

Review: A.C. Slater's Night Bass is a wildly successful, internationally renowned institution for ground breaking, forward-thinking dance music that's spearheading an underground movement across the U.S.A. The Los Angeles based imprint now serves up another one by label staple Jay Robinson: the ascendant Welshman who has previously appeared on Bingo Bass, Cr2 and Mau5trap. His new effort is "Pushing" featuring the captivating vocals of Ina Bravo - this bass driven tech house jam is so infectious. This is supported by second original offering "Wrong About You" - another vocal track which explores classic U.S. house aesthetic with a modern, and yes bass driven, twist!

Review: One of the most prolific and consistent basssmiths in the house/tech/broken beat axis, Robinson continues to raise the profile with four more mischief-making collaborations; Pelikann joins in for a little Python rattling on the twisted bass throw-down "Gettuh", NIQW and Ami Carmine collide with Jay for a little dirty soul shaking on "Right Back" while GAWP is onside for the a sweet strutting house groove that's tickled with a riff that's reminiscent of mid 2000s Get Physical material. Finally we have the epic stripped back jacker "Oblivious" with Vanilla Ace that drops into an immense hood-heaving mid-section and cowbell popping groove. Jay: 1 / World: 0 It's a knockout.

Review: "Sunglasses, Champagne and jewellery" what more could anyone ask from life? Well, maybe some killer beats too and here Badjokes duly obliges with two ribcage rattling collaborations for bass fiends everywhere. First up we get "Champagne" (featuring Jay Robinson) and its aforementioned lifestyle mantra set to razor sharp ghetto/booty beats and harsh bass attacks. "Drop Down Low" meanwhile, pursues a hip-hop/trap route with descending stabs that dance around a stop/start strip club groove. All killer, no filler.

Review: Having previously teamed up on releases for Southern Fried, tropical house twosome Malente and Jay Robinson join forces once again with much-missed MCs Yo Majesty on the mic for this big, big tune. With a marching band rhythm and urgent soca stabs locked into a bouncy groove, the YM ladies tear it up and add an inimitable swagger to this future classic. With a host of brilliant remixes also included, highlights include Botnek's insanely warped yet infectious treatment and Raffertie's tight eski-garage reworking.

Review: Following his recent stint on the esteemed Arcade Pony label, this former partner of Malente is back continuing his solo quest, this time on Party Like Us. Although still rooted in garage and bass, his sound is ever more streamlined, and more mature too. He's not lost his edge though: "Hyer" is big and rolling with peak time breaks and a smattering of warped, jazzy garage. Elsewhere we get growling wobble "Slung" and the distorted retro house of "Turn" before proceedings wrap up with the euphoric, hands in the air melodies of "With You".

Review: For those in the know on the bassline scene, Welsh DJ Jay Robinson has been a hot name to watch for a while now. Always fine-tuning his brand of doomy bass heavy house, his latest single, 1987 has already picked up support from the likes of My Nu Leng, Shadow Child, Toddla T and Herve. "Carnage" and "Guttural" kick things off with vintage samples and bouncy bass, "Throwback" is all about the epic breakdowns, the deep and nasty "Shutdown" is an EP highlight and "The End" fuses dubstep and hip-hop to devastating effect

Review: People talk about passing trends, and what's hype now versus ten years ago, but UK breakbeat dons, the Stanton Warriors, have never gone away. Their style of dance music is ultimately based on samples and many different styles of dance, so these guys have always reinvented themselves, constantly dipping and diving their breaks into new, unexplored territories. For this new EP, out on the Punks imprint, they team up with Night Bass' Jay Robison for a one-track heart-melter. It's hard to categorise "Bang", but if we had to describe it to you it would have to fall under the enlarged 'electro' remit, showering its listeners with cool waves of bass and a pseudo-dubstep arrangement that manages to sit somewhere between 4/4 and half-step - which is quite an achievement in and of itself. If vocals aren't your thing, then there's an instrumental cut to get stuck into, of course.

Review: This latest bumper-packed compilation from the mighty CR2 label is pretty much all you'll need to get yout through this summer season, if not the whole year! Yep the classic imprint has done it again, rounding up Todd Terry, label boss Mark Brown and the CR2 Allstars to each deliver sizzling summery mixes with a combined tracklist of 57 tunes! A selection of the many highlights includes the melancholy Italo disco vibes of "Epiphany (Copy Paste Soul mix)" by The Golden Boy, the nasty low-down jacker "Starfucker" by Audion, the techno lazer funk jam "Funky Tees(Tee's Freeze mix)" by Todd Terry himself and and the moody trance of Superpitcher's DJ Hell rework, "Je Regrette Everything".
