Review: Following a fine retrospective of "original productions and reworks" earlier in the month, the Rare Wiri label has prepped another killer compilation to help mark the imprint's 10th birthday. This time round, boss man Rayko has gathered together some of the label's most potent re-edits. The quality threshold remains impressively high throughout, with highlights including James Rod's chugging and cheery disco-boogie shuffler "So Easy", the dreamy deep house throb of In Flagranti's loopy version of "Walking In The Rain", the sparkling saccharine soul/jazz-funk flex of Yam Who's revision of "In Your Eyes" and the pulsating Italo-disco/disco-funk fusion of Ziggy Phunk's take on "One Evening". Throw in a clutch of top-notch Rayko re-edits and the result is an essential collection of floor-focused reworks.

Review: Pure suntan funk from the heart of Venice Beach; fly Frenchman Jay Airiness returns to Rare Wiri with three more heated jams. "Boogie City" chugs with such grace and measured majesty. A low-looking hip-slinker that you never want to end, it's a guaranteed floor-filler. "Give Your Love To Me" kicks with much more spright and boogie, reminiscent of a Rick James backbeat while "My Funky Tip" takes us to much steamy R&B pastures. Full spectrum.

Review: For their latest trip into fireside-warm disco-house territory, Diggin' Deeper has turned to the twin talents of Jay Airiness and Perlair. The duo kicks things off with "Mystic Love", an expertly chopped, looped, tweaked and dubbed-out re-make of a deliciously tactile and loved-up jazz-funk classic from the disco era. While the track getting the treatment is almost untouchable (seriously, it's a stone cold classic), they've done a terrific job in delivering a re-edit that takes it in a totally different direction. "Sunset Disco" is, if anything, even sunnier and breezier, with the production partnership working some sparkling loops hard before unleashing a samba disco inspired crescendo. Nicely done, lads.

With his unique take on house and disco, Jay is said to work everyday in the studio to make future classics for the dance floor. With a slew of releases on modern heads such as Diggin Deeper, Binary Flights, Editorial, FKR & Rebel Hearts, he he serves up two cuts here of seriously sexy nu-disco goodness with "Heart" being the deeper and more lo-slung jam, while "She Stayin" is most definitely the party starting number that gets well funky (not to mention sleazy) too!

Review: Venice Beach member Jerome Potin has largely impressed with his solo material under the Jay Airiness alias, releasing a mix of edits and original productions via such labels as Diggin' Deeper and Trad Vibe. This release for Spa In Disco is arguably has most expansive and polished collection of original tracks yet. Choose between the synth-bass driven electrofunk chug of "Mellotron Singinging" - where breathy vocal samples and disco guitar riffs ride a throbbing groove - the dirty Italo-disco revivalism of "Torna In Italia", and the bouncy, hip-house goes nu-disco via Sunrise '89 flex of "Crazy & Lazy". Planet Jupiter re-imagines the latter track as a hard-wired chunk of piano-laden boogie-house, while Rewindthedisco turns it into a low-slung chunk of disco heaviness.

Review: California's Jay Airiness has steadily risen through the ranks of the nu-disco scene, leapfrogging from one good label to another. The latest groovy lily pad he finds himself on is the mighty Rare Wiri one. There are three super tight and elastic jams barely contained here. Up first is "Funky Rendezvous", a slow and mechanical funk grind. Beyond that we get the fizzy euphoria of the Michael Zager-esque boogie banger "Get Down People" and the percussion driven cosmic funk freak-out "Just Dance". Special stuff.

Review: Jay Airiness is the latest alias of DJ Moar. Known for his work with his nu-disco group Venice Beach, he, as he claims himself: always has his eyes on the groove. With a fresh vision of club music, he has had releases thus far on Diggin Deeper, Editorial, FKR & Rebel Hearts. Starting this fine EP off with "Grand Baie", a deep and summery nu-disco jam reminiscent of Max Essa, he then gets stuck into the funky and filtered funk sleaze of the title track: those vocoded vocals are wicked! "Priceless Love" goes for some more retro vibes from the '80s which is totally bittersweet and irresistible. Then, on a final note, Reverso 68 main man Pete Herbert serves up an always impressive rendition, in this case the title track which has us counting down the days 'til summer.

Review: Spanish producer Rayko has delivered some impressive dancefloor magic courtesy of his Rare Wiri label. Ranging from re-edits to deep nu-disco and everything in between, the imprints sound is all encompassing. That philosophy is fully explored here on Retro Future Disco, bringing all kinds of disco approaches to the table. Highlights include the schmokin' 70s jazz-funk of "Hot Head Disco" by Psychemagik, the legendary Il Flagranti's rare re-edit of new wave classic "Walking In The Rain" by Flash & The Pan and the dreamy, star-crossed synth-pop of "In Your Eyes" by Yam Who? Something for everyone here.

Review: Regularly found doing the business for Rebel Hearts and Editorial, there can be no doubt that Jay Airness' disco edit credentials are up there with the best. On this EP for Trad Vibe there's no holding back, as "Turn Off TV" lays the cheeky samples on thick and the rhythm section gets a serious buffing for maximum soundsystem impact. Veering between hip hop-esque sampling and plush melodic content, it's a full-bodied jam that demands your attention. DJ Color C2 delivers an equally exuberant remix with a motorik thrum, while FabioLous rubs a leaner concoction out of the component parts.

Review: Venice Beach mainman Jay Airiness is well established in the world of covert releases and edits, already counting KS French, Rayko and Valique amongst his supporters. Here we get four new cuts to enjoy - the quirky Robotnick-style 80s Europop instrumental "Bringback Memory", "Late Night" brings low slung staccato funk to the party, whilst "Tsubatmosphere" is all deep and soulful house loops and "Fly" is all about excellent slo-mo Balearic grooves. Remix -wise Alda delivers some nastier, EBM style grooves, Raffaello Bonaga brings warm and deep electro-house and Zowa ends with an evocative linear builder in the vein of David August.

Review: Over the last few years, Jay Airiness has proved to be one of the re-edit scene's most prolific producers, releasing tasty morsels on such labels as FKR, Rebel Hearts, Editorial, Binary Flights and Seventh Planet. Deep World sees him return to the Diggin' Deeper label - scene of many of his greatest triumphs - with a trio of sensual, sun-kissed cuts. He begins with the woozy, ultra-deep nu-disco/house/blue-eyed soul hybrid "Deep World", before looking to Larry Levan for inspiration on the metronomic, dubbed-out boogie-house shuffle of "Phat Pad". Finally, he hops into Doc Brown's Delorean to travel back to the mid '80s on "Basse Publique", a sparkling revision of what sounds like an early Jam & Lewis production.

Review: The best thing about spring is all the new stuff starts to arrive. Editorial have taken this idea quite literately and have rounded up a whole bunch of fresh new faces and tunes. Review: Since first appearing on our radar in 2014, Jay Airiness has gone on to deliver solid releases on Rebel Hearts, FKR, Binary Flights and Diggin Deeper. Here he returns to the latter with a three-track selection of Boogiedits. He begins with the loopy-but-baggy warmth of "Hello", where a backwards breakdown ushers in some head-in-the-clouds vocal harmonies and killer piano work. On the slightly faster "Up & Down" he does a good job turning a rubbery boogie gem into a sweet disco-house roller, while "Away Boogie" sees him successfully pay tribute to mid-'80s synth-soul, p-funk and electrofunk in his own distinctive manner.

There are five new cuts to get to grips with here - Matt Hughes's luxurious tight-funk bass anthem "Solar Boogie", the lazy, lapping ocean beach disco of "Any Damn Time" by Danny Deluxe and the chuggin locomotive rhythms of I Gemin's "How Could It". Elsewhere Jay Airiness brings some Italo-space disco to the table with "Sunshine Grooves and "Public Transit" is slick cocktail-house at its finest.

Review: Nantes-based disco-house fusionist Jay Airiness has impressed in recent times, with his Boogie Nite EP on Rebel Heart offering just the right blend of original house chops and classic disco/boogie samples. For this outing on Diggin' Deeper, he's in straight-up disco edits mode, offering up loopy house interpretations of some classic material. "I Can't Wait Saturday" sees him successfully chop-up Oliver Cheetham's anthem-like "Get Down Saturday Night", adding a little grunt via well-chosen loops and smooth house drums. On "Sun Sun Shine" he does the same to Central Line synth-boogie summer anthem "Walking Into Sunshine", giving it a relentless loop-house flavour. As for "I Like To Party", it's an extra-heavy, housed-up take on a synth-heavy '80s soul classic.
