Review: As the title suggests, this expansive, compilation style EP from the reliable GLBDOM label showcases fresh material rooted in the past - specificially the collected artists' love of dance music from the '80s and '90s. There's plenty to set the pulse racing throughout, from the acid-splashed classic house warmth of Jeff The Fool's 'Malabar Princess' and the ragga-rave-goes-deep-breakbeat house excellence of Scruscru & BR Selecta's 'Sweet Low', to the glassy-eyed, warehouse-ready '90s house bump of Evenn's 'Time Bomb' and organ bassline-propelled love bomb that is Hatt.D's 'Every Day'. Also worth checking is the analogue rich, sunrise ready house shuffle of Marc Brauner and David Silva's 'Breeze' and the deep breakbeat house loveliness of 'Woman' by FRR FONK.

Review: Having existed for some time as a DJ booking and management agency, Chevry has decided to launch its own label. Fittingly, release one is a compilation that acts as a kind of showcase for the artists on its roster. There's much to admire across the 13 tracks, with highlights including - but in no way limited to - the sun-kissed acid house-meets-nu-disco bounce of Fasme's 'Acid Party', the deep and dusty, disco-tinged loop-house of Jeff The Fool's 'What You Need', the breakbeat-driven piano house rush of 'Stock Option' by Deborah Aime La Bagarre, the sub-heavy, low-slung deep house strut of DJ Steaw's 'Sunlight' and the late '90s, Dave Angel style techno-funk of 'Feel Your Soul' by Baccus. Psartek Phillipe's closing cut 'Muse About', a Shazz-esque chunk of acid-driven French techno, is also impressive.

Review: The first release from Belarussian producer Iner's Dobro label contained a wealth of high-class deep house treats from an expansive cast of international artists. This sequel follows on along similar lines, with Iner choosing to showcase six sizzling tracks from a variety of rising stars and established. Spanish producer Hurlee kicks things off via the atmospheric and musically detailed deep house jazziness of 'Pel Meu Per Tu', before Igor Gonya wraps jazzy old soul snippets around a bustling beat on 'Mess In The Head'. Sun-kissed, electric piano-laden carnival house flavours are the order of the day on Cosmocomics' 'Surf and Smoothie', while MuteNoise and Jeff The Fool both make merry with samples lifted from classic disco-funk jams. Will Sonic successfully rounds things off with a classic-sounding deep house pumper with bags of energy ('Musica Melodica').

Review: Since launching in February 2020, Sengiley Recordings has delivered a steady stream of decent deep house EPs, mostly from talented but currently little-known producers. Pancake Capital sees them apply this approach to the long-form format, via a Juno Download exclusive first ever label compilation. Starting with the melodious, nu-disco tinged positivity of Azuro's 'Batlika', the set gleefully skips between stomping but spacey house retro-futurism (Benou's 'Deeper'), acid-fired, warehouse-ready sleaze (Corbi), tactile, Circulation style turn of the millennium deep-tech (Midnight Sessions' 'Deep Like Every Tuesday' and Sebas Torres's immaculate album-closer, 'Before The Dance'), and bass-heavy, intergalactic-sounding chunkiness (HATT.D), dreamy new age house (Maceau).
