Review: Having shelled us lately on Invicta, Jungle Cakes and Dub Shotta, it' was only a matter of time when Scuffed would land on Born On Road. And here he is, true to form, with an all-star cast of collaborators. Eva Lazarus and Jenks link in on the title track 'Bun Up The Dance' which is an instant festival weapon. Elsewhere Mad Sam gets lyrical on the skank-happy 'Warn Them', Mista Jago brings some serious grit to 'Soundboy Dead' while Junior Dog adds some proper authentic dancehall magic to 'High Grade'. Finally Scuffed gets heavy with the finale fire cut 'Alright'. Yes it is most definitely alright. Bunners gotta bun.

As with previous Cryptik dispatches, all friends are welcome making this one of the widest ranging and fullest flavoured snapshots of the Jenks sound so far. Review: Yung Jenks continues to slap us all into shape with his latest outing on Dub Shotta. Linking up with Junior Dangerous, 'Badman Anthem' goes wild on the staccato vibes as a the bassline and vocal hit and poke with total venom. 'Wheel Up' takes things on a murkier level with a grizzly high voltage bassline buzzing away and a gritty stripped back vibe you could imagine Randall smashing in a mix while 'Capital' closes the EP with just a tad more of a soulful edge as the synths on the intro ease us into another slug-like bassline. Bad to the bone.

Following his recent anthems on Dub Shotta the young talent also makes an appearance on Serial Killaz with some of his bounciest and most party-ready flavours to date. ACP appears on two massive collabs - the wonky grooving 'Bottles' and the immense rave beast 'What I Think'. Elsewhere Jak gets busy on the greasy groove 'Bass Reject', 'Run It' brings a little depth and space into the mix while 'Doctor' is all about the drama and suspense. Epic.

Review: Jenks is part of the really vibrant jump-up arena at the moment, part of the next generation of artists in at side of the scene coming through and re-energising not just jump-up, but the whole of D&B. Informal are fairly new and one of the most prolific labels in this movement and the Bills EP is the their latest hellish piece of work. The beats here are big, bad and don't care about your feelings, with the title tune exemplifying the approach taken: gargling basses and pounding percussive lines. Top release, and we also love the arrangement on 'Bones'.
