Review: Emerging seven-piece electro-swing outfit the Jenova Collective make their debut on Ragtime. Weighing in at a cool five tracks, it's a pretty extensive debut that showcases the band at their broadest and, indeed, funkiest. Highlights include the balance of happy-slapping riddim jacking and arpeggiated dreaminess on "Champagne Machine", the tight vocal loop and trouser-tearing bass tears on "It Ain't Right" and the raw euphoria of the vocal-led, synth-heavy "Digital Fandango". Well worth checking.
