Review: The legendary Jeremy Sylvester is back in fine form with this fiery display, unloading four dancefloor-ready rollers with some real throwback feelings, courtesy of course of Time Is Now. We open up with the nostalgic chord progressions and heavily reverberated soundscapes of '90's Man', which sets the tone perfectly, followed by 'Flashback', a sleeklike roller doused in electronic energy. Review: It's been 15 years since UK garage pioneer Jeremy Sylvester (24-Hour Experience, Jazz Mondo, Groove Committee etc) set up his Love House label, which is presumably why they've chosen now to release their first-ever label compilation (not counting 2013's 'Love House Sessions' mix album). With the catalogue spanning a decade and a half, there's a fair degree of variety on offer here, from bumpin' garage organ grooves ('So Addicted', 'Destruction') to tropical/tribal workouts ('7 Ways To Love') to shufflin', jazzy deep house ('Organic Deep'), making for an album that should suit lovers of that classic mid-90s house n' garage sound down to the ground.

Here he delivers volume three, a fine 19-track collection of cuts that combine classic UKG tropes - think weighty bass, organ riffs and manipulated vocal samples - with nods towards classic deep and soulful house. Highlights come thick and fast throughout, but our picks include the bumpin', mid-90s garage bustle of 'I'll Be There (Ldn Dub Vocal Mix)', the sparkling and sun-kissed soulfulness of Matt Early's remix of 'Don't Want To Let You Go', the warped bass and fizzing stabs of 'Let's Do The Bump (Vocal Mix)', and the hands-in-the-air rush of 'Juicy Red Apple'.

Review: A veteran of the UK garage scene since its earliest days, Jeremy Sylvester has always been a man of many aliases and collaborations, some of the best-known of which include Groove Committee, 24-Hour Experience, Freak Da Funk, Deep Cover and Urban Dubz. Traditionally a behind-the-scenes kinda guy, latterly he's been getting the recognition he deserves thanks to a string of 'Vintage Collection' compilations, and suffice to say this latest 20-track collection will delight those fiending for those original skippy, shuffly vibes as heard at The Frog & Nightgown, High On Rhythm et al back in the mid-90s.

Review: Jeremy Sylvester continues to churn out the hits at a furious rate. "That Vibe", featuring the vocal talents of Kayeleigh Gibson, is the veteran UK garage and funk-fuelled house producer's sixth release of 2018. In its original form, the track is a deliciously summery roller, where looped and cut-up sections of Gibson's classic house vocal ride a skipping, bass-heavy UK garage groove, positive chords and glistening melodies. It comes accompanied by a dizzying array of remixes, most of which hit the spot. Highlights include DEM2's deep two-step garage re-rub, the thrill-a-minute excitement of Rude Jude's bouncy, piano-heavy interpretation, the deep UK-funky-meets-Afro-tech flex of the Concinity Remix and the raw, wobble bass-propelled swing of the Skyjoose Shadow Mix.

Review: Jeremy Sylvester makes his return on the ever-ready Urban Dubz imprint for the third edition of 'Lost Tapes'. Straight from the off we are treated to fanatical garage flavours, as lofi melodies on 'Junior Boots' whilst the crunchy drum stylings on 'Where Brooklyn At' and 'Going Deep' conjure up a potent sense of nostalgia. We then finish up with the more newschool sounding choppy riffs of 'Let's Bounce' and the intense basslines and skippy rhythms of 'Bad A Boom' rounding off an EP built for the summer sunshine.

Review: Now an A&R for Urban Dubz, Jeremy Sylvester was one half of 2-step heroes Club Asylum. Here he curates a retrospective of old skool 2-step and UK garage. As a first hand authority on the subject he totally nails it - selecting 16 corkers largely all produced by himself (well we did say he was an authority...). Highlights include the otherworldly, space-age 2 step of Club Asylum's dub of Troy Denari's "Step A Little Closer", the hypnotic and steppy electro breaks of Electro 2's "Steppin Riddim" and the sultry growling sleaze of Future Stepperz' rework of "Turn Me On".

Review: A new mix from perennial party faves Soul Clap is always a cause for celebration, but there's something extra-special about this particular exercise in dancefloor nostalgia. Nice 'N' Ripe Allstars sees them revisit the bulging back catalogue of Grant Nelson's Nice 'N' Ripe label, an imprint that has tracked the rise, fall and subsequent rebirth of UK garage since its' birth in 1993. Soul Clap's mix - an action-packed 30-track affair featuring some of their own edits and remixes of classic cuts - does a great job in showcasing the best the label has to offer, flitting between early US garage style jams, loose soulful house, sturdy two-step, bass-heavy speed garage and the kind of long-lost jams which should be bitten by today's retro-minded house producers. In doing so, it offers an impeccable history lesson.

Review: Here we have a sizzling new two-tracker hot on the heels of the house and garage veteran's recent 'best of' collection. "I Love This City" is sumptuous disco-tinged retro-garage, which is filtered to within an inch of its life (to great effect). The 'deep dub mix' of "All Night Long" is a deeper and dreamier strain of house, while the 'JS Bumpy dub' tweaks the former into a perkier, snazzy-garage workout.

Review: Garage and house veteran, Jeremy Sylvester, has been banging out killer UK dance records since the early 90s. Now Urban Beats are reissuing his best stuff and this album features 11 tunes and a bonus DJ mix from the man himself. All the tunes here have aged extremely well; from the synth heavy hysterical-house workout of "No Longer Will I Be your Fool", to the sax-heavy garage anthem "Baby Ooh" via the disco-garage of "Don't Make Me Wait' and even Sylvester's own moody remix of Masterbuilders' "Man Cannot Rise".
