Review: Next up from the Foundation Audio imprint, they continue their incredibly impressive run of form as founder: Chad Dubz links up the Manchester based powerhouse known as JFO for a weighty three track collection. We begin our dive into this one with the sizzling sub textures and smooth drum designs of the title track 'Insight', which really does set the tone for the rest of the project right from the off. From here, 'Flow' warbles into play with its super tight low-end bass explosions, topped with unbelievably well processed drum clicks and piano stabs, followed by the amphibian synthesizer smacks of 'Amnesia', which brings pulsating basslines and yet more sharpened snare work to the table to round the project off in style.

Review: We always get excited to see a brand new JFO release hit the shelves, so when we saw he had teamed up with the ever-ready Macabre Unit team for a two track special, we were absolutely over the moon. This one is a perfect showcase of what JFO is all about, as 'Bodom' kicks us off in style, channeling incredibly clean bass synthesizer processing, spacey pads and punchy drums to provide us with an absolute heater. On the B-side we welcome 'Virus', dripping in a more classic deep dubstep flavour as growling synthesizer rolls run riot amidst delicate percussive leads and smooth atmospheric textures. Another job well done for both Macabre Unit and JFO!

Review: Uprise Audio sure know how to find a banger, as they here enlist the Mancunian bassweight of JFO for two tracks of 140BPM delight. We kick off firstly with the stuttered rhythms and choppy synth/drum combos of PDX, a truly original piece, swaying back and forth between different themes, taking the listener on one hell of a journey from start to finish. On the flip, we find a more classic JFO structure as he unleashes more gnarly bass design and precise drum processing on 'Juggernaut' to gift us a potent two track delight.

Review: The Macabre Unit Digital imprint has made itself home to a number of heavyweight releases in recent times, with Manchester's JFO being the latest to join the illustrious roster. We kick off this four track bonanza with the title track 'Spectrum', a phenomenal piece of dubstep inspired sound design, driven by blazing subs and masterful mix work. This is then followed by the similar stylings of 'Mind Control'. Next up we splash into the pool of weighty subs and precisely processed percussive rolls that is 'On My Skin', descending into delightful synth growls and sharp drum work. Finally we finish up this masterful body of work with 'Hailstone', an incredible arrangement of haunted atmospherics and powerful beat stops, reminiscent of early DJ Madd.

Review: Having first appeared on the evergreen bass innovation stable for their Integrate album last year, Manchester's JFO returns to Southpoint with a full EP that lives up to its name... Lean, minimal and humming with authentic dubspace science. The title track says it all; shimmering subs and reflective synth ripples, it's as pristine as we've come to expect from the Crystal Recordings founder. Elsewhere we're massaged by eastern pipes on "Illy Dub", we're pushed into the cavernous jaws of deep dubstep with the vibrantly percussed "Darka" and given a royal slap with strings and grimey rifle snares on "Peak". In case there wasn't enough reason to bag this, Triple S has twisted up "Illy Dub" for good measure. Powerful.
