Review: Here, Quantize Recordings notches up a century of releases. To mark the occasion, they've drafted in the woman behind one of American dance music's most iconic voices, Jocelyn Brown. Produced by Diepheus and Eastar, "Don't Quit" is a classic chunk of rich, disco-flecked soulful house, with Brown delivering the positive, life-affirming lyrics with effortless ease. Brown's impassioned vocals get a thorough working over on DJ Spen and Soulfuledge's tough Paradox Stomp mix - what would once have been called a 'Vocal Dub' - while the same duo's Pulse Persistance Mix utilizes some MAW style Afro-influenced New York drums. Best of all, though, is Spen's Boogie Brown mix, which pays tribute to the legendary vocalist's disco roots.
