Review: If you've been to the D&B motherfest that is Let It Roll you will already understand the gravity of this situation... The Czech festival's showstopping opening show tradition levelled up this year by recruiting an entire troupe of A-list heavyweights to score its spectacular show. From the opening sirens of Abis's launch track "Battlecry" to the final harmonic synth echoes of The Prototype's "Infinite", this is an epic celebration of drum & bass at its most technical, dramatic and theatrical. Other highlights include the sudden twist in Mefjus's rolling tale "The Chase" and the rush caked euphoria of Muzzy's "Photons". The portal awaits...
Review: Liverpool institution Circus returns for the seventh edition of its Selector Series and it could be the most impressive installment yet. Label chief/local legend Yousef claims that this collection of certified bangers have been burning up dancefloors at the world's best clubs and festivals recently and are guaranteed to make their way into the collections of all decent DJs - to pump out throughout the summer of 2019. Ascendant Italian Alex Kennon has the main room in mind on the tough rolling and bass-driven groove of "Dimension", CJ Jeff delivers some moody heads-down tackle on the stomping "Caged Animal", Joe Red serves up the slick minimal back room dub of "Beast" and Siege channels the blistering drum machine attack of a certain Plastikman classic on "Robalo".

Review: Beyond all the clubbing action, another often forgotten tradition of the 90s was the post-club 'all back to mine' session. The air thick with 'smoke', a curated chillout mix by an established dj would sort everyone out. The Late Night Tales series continues that tradition and here we have a new volume curated by Canadian quartet BadBadNotGood. The album features 21 cuts from their record collections woven together in a hazy nocturnal fashion. Highlights include the psychedelic electronica of "Oh Honey" by Delegation, the seductive 60s folk-soul of "Kaes On Aeg" by Velly Joonas and the campy synth-boogie of "Disco Dancer" by Kiki Gyan.
