Review: The Project Allout wave continues to gain in momentum as they welcome back the incredibly consistent Joedan across four tracks of highly energetic and flavoursome dancefloor beats. We kick off with the post-funky influences and niche-style bassline influxes of the title track 'Impending Doom', before 'Chest Plate' strips things back for a carnival-ready drum roller. Review: Now the team at ONEPUF are gaining quite the reputation for extracting the weird and wonderful out of the producers they work with. This latest third edition of their self-named compilation series is a perfect example of that as they welcome 8 producers who all bring something very different to the table. Epoch provides us with an amphibious roller with 'Understand', followed by Exit 99's very unusual moogy creation 'Lemon Acid'. Next, some techy breaks action on 'Flugel Dance' from Coldpast before Kobe JT & Tuff Tax hit us with some original UKG flavour. Joedan keeps us on the garage tip with 'Black Everything', followed by the jersey club style sounds of 'Swisha Drop' from Killjoy and high speed acid vibes of Zeed's 'Fish & Chips'. Finally, DJ BMW lets loose some original techno flavour with the unpredictable moog stabs of 'Reactor Core VIP', with Headchef's 'Alarming Regularity' providing us with the perfect outro for this momentous compilation.

What once was simply a music promotion service is now branching into a larger operation for Simply Deep. Wishing to support talent where it is due, the label are on the constant lookout for new and aspiring artists who are making quality music, regardless of genre specifics. Highlights on their second label compilation include the dark and bass driven street level antics of Jordan's "Falling", the deep dubstep done to perfection (what a bassline!) on Chemist RNS - "Clubbin", the savage grime tendencies of KXVU's "Peak For You" and Opus & Loudcutta's paranoid and dystopian trip "Travella".

Review: It's been a year since Slime's second instalment of their leading compilation Future Sound Of Garage series. Now the follow-up has finally arrived boasting 28 examples of what they to be consider music of the future. There are too many to name, but highlights include the ethereal and sensual future-step opener "Return" by Monoblue, the seductive, delicate chimes of the shimmering "Ever Feel" by Just Breathe, the sparse and raw 2-step of Pavv's "Let It Go" and even the uber commercial Ibiza-friendly anthem "Stone" by Project X is a (guilty) pleasure.

Review: "Blow", by Two Tons (aka Joedan and Kontent) pays homage to the Johnny Deep movie of the same name - pure as the driven snow. It's also a tune that'll shake your speaker cones, with its rattling rhythms and positively sub-maximal bottom end. Joedan ups the wobble factor on his VIP mix, whilst "Dnt Gve A Fck" is a neon-lit, late night roller. Joedan appears again, this time with his own "No Verse Two" - all sparse tropical beats and grime verses courtesy of MC Shantie. Boom!

Review: There's no limits to Joedan's scope of work, and the Leeds-based producer has been skipping from label to label, dropping bomb after bomb. Boss Mode is his place of residence this week, and he's come through with five steely-eyed bass whoppers that cause all sorts of confusion and nuttiness. That's because cuts like "Blatant Murder" manage to fuse so many UK genres into one - this one in particular is a cross between garage and murderous wobblestep - or others such as "Cardboard Box" offer a fresh, cut-throat take on already well-grounded formulas. There's some fine remixes, too, namely a trio of wallopings by Mind Of A Dragon, Dappa, and Gundam...each one armed with their own interpretations of what 'bass' means.

Review: Leeds producer Joedan made a name for himself on the great Influx:Audio a while ago, and his effective d&b hybrids have been pleasing us ever since. He's up on F2 for his latest appearance, and he's in more of a garage mode than anything else, serving up an old-school rocker with a 4/4 beat and Chiverton's dangerous vocals on top of it - the main hook is instantly seductive...the inimitable "Lower My Glasses". "Tuff", on the other hand, goes for the jugular thanks to its mutant bass swarm, broken beats and heads - down flavour.

Review: When Nasty FM's Tik & Borrow gave birth to In:Flux Audio, little did they know that they'd given birth to a monster. The At The Speed Of Life EP is sound the sound of urban Britain in the future. In other words, it sounds like how garage will sound for everybody else in 2025. There are three scorching tracks on here, with the title track leading the charge with its deep and hard grind, "Meth" sees a party-friendly MC rap layered on a deep speed garage joint and "Soon Come" wraps things up nicely with a more melancholic, yet bassy, jam.
