Review: Known for his deep house output on his own Lehult label, here German producer Johan Kaseta signs with fellow Hamburg dwellers Zissou Records to release an EP that sits in a vague hinterland between deep house, nu-disco and downtempo/chill-out. Teufelsbruck's edit of 'Fanta Muega' - all rolling Latin drums and breathy flute - is probably your best bet for dancefloor play, while 'How U Like It?' makes free with an Andrea True Connection vocal sample in similarly dusty, lo-fi fashion. Elsewhere, 'Everytime (I Talk To You)' is a dreamy lil' shuffler with a rump-shaking b-line, while 'Falling Leaves' and 'Somebody's Heart' are hazy, loopy midtempo jams.

Review: For its 10th release, Lehult put together a 10 track compilation featuring new material by them and their friends. The four sides showcase some familiar label sounds, as well as some unexpected surprises: Original crew members Liem, Lucky Charmz, Eddie Ness, Johan Kaseta and DJ Assam are all on board with new material. Matthias Reiling, A Trap Jr. & DJ Slyngshot, Rainboy and Epikur also join the party. For the special occasion they wanted to compile a collection aimed at the DJs that have been buying their records and supporting their outlet founded a couple of years back. LHLT10 is one of those versatile records that offers something for every situation, one that never leaves your bag. There's chilled, intricate songs for the early and late hours on the dancefloor, dark and vibey Jams for the dungeons, joyful and weird peak time stuff, and some straight up groove monsters - all on one release.

Review: Johan Kaseta has been part of the Lehult family from the very beginning, playing his part in numerous collaborative EPs. The Efora Land, though, is his first solo outing for the well-regarded deep house label. Given the opportunity to impress, Kaseta duly drops a quartet of tracks that steadfastly refuse to settle on one groove for any length of time. Contrast, for example, the quiet positivity of loose deep house shuffler "U Timmi", the musically expansive dancefloor melancholy of "No Same Time", and the experimental, dub-flecked electronics of "Erefora Steps". While each of these three tracks has a similarly loose and, at times, lo-fi feel, each offers something stylistically different.

Review: Despite the season that's in it, there is little on this mini comp that's particularly Christmas party fodder, and frankly we're not complaining. Instead the vibe is all about depth and dancefloor contemplation. John Kaseta starts by remixing DJ Assam's "Rowdy Hope" into a moody house grind complete with atmospheric effects. Elsewhere the pair team up the deep, skippy shuffle of "Back Quality" (also remixed into a raw, minimal warehouse slammer by Times Are Ruff) and the spaced-out techy jam, "Kord Dreyer".
