Review: When we saw that the Soul Ex Machina crew were back in town we jumped for joy, especially when we got to see who they were alongside as Johney touches down for four tracks of seriously weighty goodness. The delayed drum shimmers and bone-tingling sub work of 'Detached', the title track, gives us a great insight into where we are headed, followed by the more resolute LFO stutters of 'Grape Brick' and the shining synthetic pad textures of 'Peach' to match. Finally, a bouncy number to round us off as 'Golden Skies' fuses marching kicks with distant atmospherics for one final smokey setting, closing off the project with some real style.
