Review: Not to be confused with NY garage legends Joi N'Jorio, Joi N'Juno is the new artist alias of French producer, keyboard player and vocalist David 'Damny' Baluteau, formerly of electro-punk outfit La Phaze. As Joi N'Juno he's racked up half a dozen releases that he describes as "blending retro vibes with modern disco and Afrobeats", which gives you a pretty good idea of what to expect from this single-tracker for Mexican label Discoweey, in which 70s disco geetars and Fela-like brass flourishes sit atop a hefty-ass bassline that suggests M. Baluteau may have more than one or two Murk records in his collection.
