I'm Gonna Be Alright EP
Be Alright (original mix) - (7:08) 124 BPM Hot
Where Were You When You Heard Acid? (original mix) - (6:47) 119 BPM
Have A Dream (Party People In Da House mix) - (6:33) 124 BPM
Slappin' Basslines (original mix) - (7:10) 121 BPM
Review: Four quality house cuts here from Joint4Nine, AKA Bogota, Columbia native Ivan Lozano. Opener 'Be Alright' has echoes of a certain Urban Soul classic in the vocal department (though it's not actually a sample - it's more of a 'feel' thing), a cool synth bassline and some classy sax work, 'Have A Dream' is pure late 80s Chi-town nostalgia and 'Slappin' Basslines' is a nicely wonked-out affair with lots of lovely squelchy 303 bass. The standout to these ears, though, is 'Where Were You When You Heard Acid?', which chugs, squelches, bleeps, whispers and just doesn't stop for (nearly) seven glorious minutes.
