Islandman Remixes Vol I
DJ Pippi - "Mr P" (Islandman remix) - (4:39) 100 BPM Hot
Troels Hammer - "The Singing Clouds" (Islandman remix) - (5:55) 110 BPM
Jose Manuel - "Babylon" (feat Bababar Dieng - Islandman remix) - (5:48) 96 BPM
Review: A true pioneer DJ in the Balearic Islands and one of the legendary founders of Ibiza house music culture, Italian Giuseppe Nuzzo aka DJ Pippi remains a world class DJ. As well as being a resident at the island's premier club Pacha, he's also a producer, remixer and label boss of Aluminium Records. His 2016 track "Mr P" gets the remix treatment by Istanbul's Islandman - giving the track a dub-reggae tinged, sun-kissed and lo-slung treatment that's perfect for sipping pina coladas and people watching at Cafe Mambo. The Turkish sound magician in actual fact presents a couple of other remixes from Bager & Co.'s back catalogue: label staple Troels Hammer's "The Singing Clouds" gets the deep tribal rain dance vibe while Jose Manuel's "Babylon" (feat Bababar Dieng) features a splendid and hypnotic Afro vibe that's perfect for drifting.

Human Behaviour (Clandestino remix) - (6:57) 122 BPM

Aisha - (9:44) 117 BPM
Review: Clandestino are comprised of Joe Morris, Nic Smith and Iain Mac: who have been involved in the Leeds underground music scene for a good time. They have been regularly throwing diverse parties and inviting exciting DJ talent for close to 20 years. Their exotic blend of leftfield dance music is reflected in their label, with previous editions featuring the likes of Coyote, Dennis Kolomensky and Bird Of Paradise, among others. It is now over to Berlin based Jose Manuel, an Italian DJ and producer. He is the founder of Black Pepper, in addition to releases for Optimo Music, Eskimo and Kill The DJ. From the woozy slo-mo tribal groove of "Human Behaviour" (which receives a neon-lit acid balearica makeover by Clandestino themselves) to the soulful Afro-beat journey of "Bangalore" which receives a psychedelic retake by Mushroom Project - its all good on this release.

Excursion Africanism (Remixes)
Babylon (feat Bababar Dieng - Islandman remix) - (5:48) 96 BPM Hot
Voices Of Africa (Mehmet Aslan remix) - (8:54) 58 BPM
Excursion Africanism, (Perca dub - Part 1) - (6:15) 57 BPM
Hungry (Leo Mas & Fabrice dub remix) - (8:18) 112 BPM
Review: Jose Manuel's recent album for Music For Dreams, the mighty Excursion Africanism, brought plenty of new and refreshing outernationalism to the electronic scene, and we are pretty convinced about the fact that this is some of the best material to surface out of the label in a long while. Much to our pleasure, this is a full-service remix package, all planned out with the care and attention to detail that it deserves. First up, Islandman reworks "Babylon" into the most seductive of Balearic cuts to have graced our charts as of late, Mehmet Aslan's version of "Voices Of Africa" is a moody yet effective little house roller, the Perca dub cut of "Excursion Africanism" ticks all the tribal boxes in fine style, while Leo Mas and Fabrice's own dub version of "Hungry" is the perfect bit of outsider dance experimentation to complement this magnificently subtle EP. Recommended!

Hungry
Hungry - (6:18) 112 BPM
Hungry (Leo Mas & Fabrice dub remix) - (8:18) 112 BPM Hot
Review: His name is Jose Manuel, Italian DJ and producer who in his own words is informed by disco funk and more specifically Afro: something clearly evident on the spiritual life music of "Hungry".
Original Ibiza dons Fabrice and Leo Mas: yeah, the one who's strongly affiliated with the one and only Alfredo of Amnesia, turn in a nice remix. You're in good hands with these two as they take you back to Typhoon club circa 1988: you could imagine the legendary Beppe Loda smashing this one out to a room of sweaty, up for it punters! After brilliant releases on Eskimo, Cocktail D'Amore and Is It Balearic?, Jose Manuel is certainly on a roll right now!
