Review: Julian Wassermann, hailing from Munich, has firmly established himself as a highly respected figure in the realms of melodic house and deep techno. His international breakthrough came with the chart-topping single "Gotland" in 2019, solidifying his presence on the global electronic music scene. Familiar to Stil vor Talent, Wassermann brings his high-voltage magic with the EP 'Hallodri' to the sub-label Light My Fire with two hair-raising tracks that are bound to set dance floors ablaze. Armed with his Moog Sub 37 and OB-6 synthesizers, Wassermann takes us on a darker and grittier journey, perfect for those moments when the dancefloor needs a firm grip. 'Hallodri,' the titular track, is a synth-driven epic that emerges from the depths of dub and propels us into interstellar realms like a ghost ship. 'Ego' follows a more straightforward prog techno path but still bears Wassermann's signature touch.

Review: Some seven years after first showcasing their take on tech-house and deep house, the PopArt label has finally notched up a half-century of releases. To celebrate, they've put together this action-packed "best of" featuring some of the imprint's standout moments. You'll find an ear-pleasing, floor-focused selection of tracks throughout, with highlights including the languid, sun-kissed disco-house roll of Pump Fiction's "Lay-D Fiction", the Quantic Soul Orchestra-sampling tech-house chug of Paolo Mojo's "Give It All Away", the Hot Creations style goodness of Re Dupre's "Slammin' N' Thang" and the hip-house-goes-tech-house throb of Nytron's "Fusion". We'd also recommend getting your ears around Dashdot's deliciously deep and atmospheric revision of Vintage Culture's "Cicles" [sic].

Review: Berlin native Oliver Koletzki has cited his hometown as a main point of reference and inspiration throughout his career. His last two albums are said to be 'wholehearted tributes' to the German capital and its importance in the current climate of electronic music. The label's aesthetic - right down to the cover art is testament to this - featuring photos of local landmarks and graffiti adorning his fair city. There are little to no corners in the city that haven't brought a spark of inspiration into the mix and the eighth instalment of the Schneeweiss (English translation 'white snow') compilation series, is said to be a tribute to the many aspects or 'particles' consolidated as a series of carefully curated tracks. There's so many highlights on here and we're only going to name a few, but they're not limited to: hometown hero and one time Terranova member Rampa's brooding dance floor drama on "Fluke", Frankey & Sandrino bridging the gap between tech-house and nu-disco ever so gracefully again on "Solaris", Cologne's finest Andhim lend their deft hand on a remix of Leipzig figurehead Matthias Tanzmann's "Coffee Clouds" and the man from Mannheim Ray Okpara who's still going: his track "Satin Curtain" getting a smooth remix by the legendary Kevin Yost.

Review: Congratulations to long-running Berlin label Still Vor Talent, which has now notched up no less than 200 releases. To celebrate this milestone, the label has put together this fine celebratory compilation featuring contributions from "old and new faces". Fittingly, it's arguably one of the imprint's strongest and most varied releases to date. Of course, there's plenty of typically Germanic fusions of deep house and tech-house present, but also the Arabic-influenced deep house exotica of Sam Shure, the rising, piano-laden dancefloor bliss of Oliver Koletzki's "Don't Take Yourself Too Seriously", the heavily electronic, club-ready psychedelia of Fideles ("Dark Stone") and the lilting melodies of Deorbiting's warm and picturesque "Warnsignal".

Review: Senso Sounds is Oliver Huntemann's label for underground electronic music, based out of Hamburg and already racking up an impressive back catalogue of releases. Kickstarting a new series of EPs with exclusive tracks from various artists, Senso Sounds Level 01 ventures further into the abyss with four brand new killers from the roster. Starting off with boss man Huntemann and the brooding and adrenalised dancefloor drama of "Kamikaze", Denmark's Noir teams up with Brazilian Victor Ruiz on "I Am" (feat Cari Golden) and Italian Veerus delivers the druggy main room stomper "Mind Awake, Body Asleep". Finally Munich's Julian Wassermann serves up the EP's finest moment on with the devilish minimal tech house killer "Neurose" featuring the most razor sharp bassline you'll hear this year!

Review: Julian Wassermann and Oliver Deurling team up for some dark journey tracks that tick all the right boxes, particularly on the title track with its wonky synth melodies, dark strings and doomy basslines. All the good stuff really! The Bjorn Starig remix injects more ferocity and adrenalin into it that's perfect for a peak time dance-floor at Watergate. Second original track "Mancher Freiheit" is more on the progressive house tip: atmospheric, melodic and downright heavenly. "Schwabing" is the real standout on here though and joins the dots between the dark style and the progressive vibe shown earlier in perfect harmony: this one will get some emotional moments on the dancefloor, that's for sure!
