Review: Hello hello hello! Here's a great way to kick off the year as Liondub and Chatta B lay down a solid riddim for their friends to do their thing over. Calling up a whole host of MCs for the jam, each one put their own twist over the sparse groove and staccato strings. From Junior Dangerous's hypey dancefloor twist with 'Floss' to the more stern and direct feel on 'Flexxxa' to Blackout JA's instant grinder 'Head Shot' this is a sick reflection of MC talent and beat fusion. Grab them all for a super creative blend. Ahoy hoy!
Review: Navi and Junior Dangerous on the same jam? This spells trouble in best body-bumping way possible. Versions galore, we kick off with the digidub dancehall swagger of the original before a crack squad of players all sign up to the bang gang... Label boss Deekline goes all tear-out with a bassline that's not dissimilar D*Minds around 10 years ago, Potential Bad Boy flips it into a purring subby jungle roller while Aries reminds us of his bashy side with a proper tropical shakedown. Finally we body bang all the way to New York state for a springy sci-fi skanker from Liondub and Jah Boogs. Banging.
Review: D&B veteran Potential Badboy is back on Jekyll & Hyde and he's got his long-term associate, Junior Dangerous in tow. Things actually begin with the surprisingly moombahton influenced "Cyant Stop (VIP)". It's back to a more familiar, perky Drum and Bass sound on "Dry Up Ya Tears", while the bass goes deep and things get pleasingly dark on "Hands In The Air". Finally things end with the epic and anthemic riddims of "Karma".
