Review: Once again we find ourselves being wowed at the consistency with which the demand for new heaters over at camp Duploc is able to be met, with this latest batch of bangers from Juss B being the latest edition to their ever-expanding catalogue. We begin with the title track 'Can't Sleep', an eerie press through electrifying synthesis and choppy vocal processing, pumped up by hard hitting drums, followed the spine-chilling vocal harmonies of 'Sandman' and system-twisting synthesiser designs of 'One Time', a masterfully crunchy monsoon of subby goodness. We then jump into two remixes as Ourman firstly gives 'Sandman' a more drum-lead feel with a powerful overhaul, next to Woven Thorns sending 'One Time' into the grinder for an even more teeth clenching combination of spooky synths and grizzly bass textures.

Review: Across the last 10 years, there aren't many platforms that have given as much energy, time and dedication towards the dubstep scene than Duploc, a platform and entity committed to the betterment and advancement of the original dubwise sound. This collection is a fabulous showcase of the strength they posses as both a label and promotional platform, with 10 of the best delivering absolute weapons, from the swampy bass reverberations of Infekt's 'Kefir', to the Bond-esc bass grooves of Tactics from Ternion Sound and dizzying soundscaping of Juss B's 'Can't Sleep'. The overall project is just dripping in quality, with the likes of ENiGMA Dubz, Oxossi, Mungk, Smith. and Ourman all hard hitting creations. Our highlights have to include the metallic masterclass of Distance's 'Vigilance', showcasing one of the scenes eternal heavyweights, next to the slickly designed sub crunches and bouncy percussive overloads of Hebbe's 'Quotha'. Incredible work and an incredible way to celebrate such an important institution.

Review: The Duploc team have a real knack for finding and unleashing explosive compilation drops, with this latest 8-track war-tape being another one to add to the arsenal, focussing on some potent remix action. Opening up with Mystic State's dreamscape-driven rethink of 'Voice' from Opus, we know we are in for a good time, with 11th Hour then giving Ourman's 'Bad Things' an electrifying overhaul next to the grungy synth pulses and grizzly drums of Woven Thorns' rework of 'One Time' from Juss B. There is no letting off the gas as AxH lets the bit crushers loose on his potent rethink of JSM's '1893', next to the eastern inspired melodic drifts of SBK's 'The Vihaan' remix from ColtCuts, the choppy LFO sweeps of Cesco's 'Mangal Sound' redesign from Oddkut & Hotcut and of course Mungk's sub-heavy switch up of 'Schreddzzz' from Rygby. Finally, Drumterror fires off a stuttering display of vocal chops and large melodic action on his 'Puli Kali' overhaul, giving Mungk's original one final rethink to round off the compilation in style.

Review: Over the past few years, there haven't been many labels or dubstep-centric projects who have been able to keep as up to date with the scene as a whole then the legendary Duploc. They came together for this new compilation project with the title 'Identity Of Dubstep', exploring the best of their previous creations. There's no doubting this one's potent tracklisting, which features corkers from the archives with artists such as ENiGMA Dubz, Juss B, SBK, Surreal, Ternion sound, Dalek One & more providing fearsome additions. As this is a compilation to celebrate the full depth of the label's catalogue, we felt it important to highlight tracks that may slip past people, with our favourites including the grizzly LFO expressions of Sweepa's 'The Circle', alongside the wonky rhythms and downright dirty bass designs of Sam Cosmic's 'Stickin Ona Rock', which again explores the more raucous side of the dubstep spectrum. A fantastic anthology of dubstep flavour.

Review: The new wave of Duploc dominance continues to roll and grow as the times move forward, with this latest four track display from Juss B once again upping the levels in spectacular fashion. We begin with the destructive synthesizer swings and twisted reesey goodness of the title track 'One Time', setting the pace nicely for what's still to come. Next, we jump into Ourman's official remix of 'Sandman', focussing in on the tracks murky, mysterious nature with a booming sub-heavy overhaul, chased up closely by the system-busting bassline action of 'Burn This', which is sure to cause many a ruckus come the reopening of the dances. Finally, 'When Will We' leads the race over the finish line with one of the most pronounced snare-pings we've heard in a hot minute. This whole EP is a fantastic exploration into the darker side of newschool dubstep and we just can't get enough.

Review: Boy oh boy what a year it has been for the Duploc family, who despite all the madness of 2020 have still kept up their incredible run of consistency, dropping nothing but bangers throughout the duration. This, presumably their final drop of the year sees them pull together a monstrous roster, featuring the likes of Cartridge, BunZer0, Ourman, Opus, Teffa, Sam Cosmic, Xakra and many more to give us one final celebratory look into dubstep in the modern era. The complete track listing is absolutely bonkers to tell you all the truth, with quality leaking out of every single original. Some favourites we have to mention however of course include the sizzling bass designs and spooky textures of Wraz's 'Ghost', alongside the fluttering flute melodies of Mani's 'Secret Forest' and 'Gibberish', a super smooth subby glider from Surreal & Somah.

Review: We are huge fans of the Duploc movement here at Juno Download, especially when they continue to roll out projects as powerful as this one as they unveil twelve war-inspired remixes. The roster they boast is outstanding, with the likes of Pushloop, ENiGMA Dubz, Rygby, Ourman and more all getting involved with some tasty overhaul involvement. For us there are two clear standouts from this one, including Ternion Sounds subtle yet hard hitting refix of 'The Eyes' from ENiGMA Dubz, alongside Dalek One's glitch-driven reimagining of 'Seek War', originally put together by Ghostek. This is Duploc at their absolute best and we can't get enough!

Review: Next up from the ever ready Duploc imprint, we jump into a heavyweight solo remix release as we see Ourman get busy with a potent relick of Juss B's impeccable 'Sandman' original. As far as remixes go, this one is truly exceptional, refitting the track with an entirely new compositional structure, We begin with spooky overtones and twisted atmospheric chord expressions, leading into a constantly evolving soundscape of metallic percussive rolls and gnarly sub lines, followed by demonic vocal chants and more. It's special to say the least!

Review: The consistency of all involved with this one is certainly something to be immediately admired, as we the ever-ready sounds of Juss B link up with Duploc, one of last years stand out labels within the dubstep scene. They here whip up two tracks of pure steppers delight for us, kicking off with the unpredictable synth and melody switches of 'Can't Sleep', which combines gnarly bass instrumentation with catchy vocal chops perfectly. On the flip-side, 'Kream' unloads a nuclear lead synthesizer, warbling away, leaving all in it's path devastated. This is one for the ravers, make no mistake!

Review: Uprise Audio have kept moderately quiet this year, but we know as well as anyone that this means they have been collecting some serious ammo for the dance, including this magnificent new original from Juss B entitled 'Bussin'. This one is set to smash the dance to smithereens as we are greeted by an array or super grizzly bass growls and metallic drum explosions. On the flip side to this one, we are also gifted an exclusive remix of 'Blow My Smoke' as Bukez Finezt arrives on the scene, packing his recreation with colourful pad-like tones and super plucky drum sounds.

Review: As we rapidly approach the end of a very successful 2018 for dubstep, we have to pay homage to one of the genre's most consistent platforms in Duploc, as they unveil the first edition of their new 'Selects' compilation series. This is a total amalgamation of the darker realms of 140 bass music, with artists such as BunZer0, Khanum, Zygos, 207 and more supplying the selection with some serious fire. For us the total standouts have to include Sweepa's sub warbling epic in 'Morse Code', alongside Juss B's demonic whirlpool of a composition in 'Sandman' and Surreal's uber grizzly 'Omni'.

Review: This one's been on the slow roast. Juss B's spacious, spellbinding sound has always hinted at an album excursion and, from the moment the title track's cosmic synths take you to the stars you know he hasn't disappointed. Highlights at every corner: the physical, sub-aquatic trap elements of "Dime", the devil vocals and ghetto diesel of "Hater Blockers", the seasick riff trippiness of "Grand Hustle", the glock-knocking barbed wave weaver "Starry Eyes"... The list goes on. Juss B is in his sonic element right here.

Here label boss Seven collects 13 of the dopest new jams by the label's impressive roster. Review: The best producers can conjure a groove and spirit with one perfectly executed kick drum arrangement. See "Boatland" for the perfect example; the second the smouldering kick cuts through the eerie pads, you'll be enveloped in an undeniable sense of carnal rhythm mischief. This immersive experience continues as we hit a VIP rendition of 2012's "The Omen" that's deeper and more dynamic than the original without losing any of its founding spirit. "Braata" shows evidence of Juss B's current residence in Bali as a relentless hand drum runs point and the surging pads and thick subs running back-up. "Cerebus" brings us to a fittingly firing climax. Pacier and more dramatic, the double-ups on the kicks and the crude oil sub attached to each beat elevates this from deep to dangerous. FKOF have delivered once again.

Review: Meditative flavours are the order of the day as US dubstepper Juss B unleashes a meaty quad on Requiem. With a bassline that seems to breathe and pulsate with a life of its own, "Systematic" is as deep as it gets. It's followed by the equally arresting sub ripples of "The Waiting Hour". Locked in with a clicky rim shot hook, there's an overwhelming sense of drama coded deep into its digital DNA. For a more bodily blend of bass look no further than "Voiceless". Here we find the layers of bass purring with a sense of metallic mischief while more heady percussion weaves and bobs amid the blend. "Horsewhipper" closes the show with demonstrative command: bold snares and hand drums hammer the message home while the soaking wet subs clear up the chaos behind. Systematically sweet, this needs your attention.

Review: Dubstep really doesn't come deeper than this; "The Cell" is a minimal hum of reverberating low-end soul. Stark, trippy and instantly hypnotising, the bass purrs and groans under a series of spacious percussive hits that float gently in and out of the mix. "Below" continues this flavour but more of a palpitating twist on the kicks and soft, heavenly chords that linger gently in the background. Understated and rich in texture, Juss B has nailed this.

Review: For the uninitiated, Low Voltage is the moniker given to a series of sparse, atmospheric deep dubstep releases from the Phantom Hertz label. Here, they offer a neat overview of the series to date, picking 25 of their favourites. For those seeking clandestine, subterranean thrills, it should be essential listening. Opening with the sub-heavy minimalism of Lysergene's "Hammer Fall", Best of Low Voltage flickers between stoned paranoia, spooky intensity and off-kilter bass pressure. Picking highlights is tricky - Reamz's intoxicating "Tapeworm" aside - but there's more than enough goodness to warrant further investigation.

Review: Phantom Hertz "Low Voltage" series has been running for several years now, so you should know what to expect... Total and utter darkness! Naturally this entry in the series is no exception as US murker Juss B makes his label debut with three piece of demonic dancefloor dynamite. "Slide" is all about the anvil-like kicks. Sure, the eerie kicks and echoed rim-shots chat a big game but deep down it's all about the heavyweight drums. "Choose" comes complete with a devilish sample from the film 300 that spooks its way across the tumultuous stark riddim. "Sequence" brings us to an end with a more percussive beat pattern. Reflective, spacious and sprung with a meaty groove, it's a great end to another great addition to Phantom Hertz ongoing series.
