Review: Following last year's By Myself split release, Shlomi Aber and Kashpitzky team up again for Our Future. Comprising four tracks, it outlines the duo's expansive vision for modern techno and shows their considerable range as producers. Austere tracks like "Energy" see the duo layer a hypnotic vocal over a driving, steely rhythm, in the process creating a mysterious but powerful dance floor techno. In contrast, "Our Future" is a slamming workout that resounds to the primal swing of ghetto. Both "Rhythm Parade" and "Navigation" sees them shift focus again, as hammering kicks, driving rhythms and building analogue riffs recall the glory days of Djax-Up Beats.

Review: The third instalment of the Monnom Black compilation series sees the respected label delivering its distinctive, hard-edged techno. Villa's "Silhouetten Der Nacht" is a lean roller, while Levzon's "Planga" and Benkhlifa's "Basikstruktur" both deliver a more abrasive, visceral sound. However, the compilation also casts its gaze wide and possesses an impressive range. Umwelt contributes the epic string-led electro of "Echoes of the Storm", while Kashpitzky's hypnotic "Timeline" goes deeper while maintaining a focus on the dance floor. In keeping with this diverse approach, Black III even provides the listener with some ebm, delivered through the pounding, brutalist rhythms of LPV's "Arrival".
