Review: The run of releases that the Southpoint crew have been able to put together over the course of 2023 has been nothing short of miraculous, with the Brighton-based heavyweights continuing to explore the garage spectrum, this time unveiling a new artist to the collective in Kells. He delivers two potent bumpers, with 'Racer' firstly providing a smooth combination of groovy organ melodies and acidic bass tweaks, all within a vibrant 4x4 drumline. On the flip to this we then check out the more fidgety designs of 'Red Cheeks', which takes breathy vocal samples and eye opening piano lines to create a truly original take on the 2-step formula. Top notch as ever.

Review: Now this is a release we have been hearing about for a hot minute as hotshot Kells makes a return to GS Dubs, this time for a tasty two-tracker experience, stooped in original garage energy and production technique. We begin with 'Limbo', which within seconds sends us right back to the early 2000's with its super-choppy vocal slides and old school chord stabs, ticking all the boxes for a nostalgic thrill ride. On the flip, a more lively drum display is then ushered forward on 'Dead Air', giving us a seriously cool backdrop of subtle synthetic energy, topped with bubbling basslines and well processed organ lines for good measure. Lovely work!

Review: With the year drawing to a close, there is no doubt in anybody's minds that the Four40 team have put together another spectacular year of content. They have decided to celebrate this with another top notch compilation, with '11 Years Of Four40' exploring some of this year's biggest releases. The company the LP keeps is pretty outstanding, with the likes of Burt Cope, MPH, BWK Project, KASTLE, Jakobin, Papirus, Tuff Culture, Yemi and many many more all getting involved. As always with Four40 however, we have some very specific favourites we want to dive into, first off with Tee Vis & Phoebe Freya's super catchy singalong 'On You' absolutely smashing the charts at the time of its original release. We also can't miss our Royal Flush's fabulous rework of 'Gettin' Your Love' from George IV, WZA's Don't Wanna Give Up' and of course the Hybrid Theory rethink of 'Like You' from Blakk Habit, which to this day still receives reloads in the dances around the country. Another fabulous year for the Four40 crew!

Review: The quality and consistency of the Four40 release schedule over the last couple of years has been near enough unrivalled, especially when it comes to their incredible line of UKG drops. Next up from them we explore some of the best bits of that run. Just looking at the artists involved is enough to get any selector salivating as we see fantastic inclusions from Deadly Habitz, Patrick Kane, Kells, Yemi, Burt Cope, Vital Techniques and so many more. There are a couple on here that have really stood the test of time in our eyes, including the Hybrid Theory remix of Blakk Habit's 'Like You', which has been causing damage in the dances ever since the raves began to reopen. We would also include Joe Burger & Dread MC's wicked collab 'Vibe' in that list of top tier inclusions, alongside George IV's 'Gettin' Your Love' and of course 'Faithful' from BWK Project. More power to the Four40 crew, who continue to impress at every turn.
Review: It's got the point with Four40 releases that we already know we are going to enjoy what's on offer, with this brand new drop from the ever-ready Kells being yet another fantastic edition to their ever-expanding catalogue of garage goodness. We begin our dive into this two tracker with the pleasing chord progressions and glittering percussive plucks of 'Ghost Dispatch', giving us some classic-sounding flavour for a real kick-start. On the flipside, 'Speed Dial' delivers something a little bit deeper, as futuristic, almost aquatic sounding bass warbles take the starring role. It's a tidy drop to say the least!
Review: We are always thrilled to see another Downplay original release land in our store, with the entirety of the Slime Recordings family constantly delivering top quality creations. This latest selection sees label regular Kells unveil a pair of sumptuous UKG designs, kicking off with the swirling synthesizer action and unpredictable vocal chops of 'Flinch', which kick starts the EP with instant good vibes. Next, we find ourselves diving down a much more acidic alley as 'Extra Faff' takes the production levels to a whole new plateau, before Yemi joins the party to round things off in style with super groovy rethink of 'Flinch' for good measure!
Review: Ah, Downplay, what a beautiful gem of a catalogue these guys are developing as they continue their hot streak with this latest three track delight from Kells. We kick off with the title track which takes the name 'A Girl', an incredibly vibrant UKG fist pumper, filled with smooth subby energies and classy vocal finesse, glued together with delicate chord melodies and tasty harmonic structures. On the flip, 'Dreeper' gives us something different, lacing euphoric rave chords with shimmering reverberations over a delightful backdrop of groovy drum arcs. Finally, Earthnut arrive just in time to provide a typically techy rethink of 'A Girl', adding the ideal finishing touches.
