Review: Whenever the Cuttin' It Fine crew comes to town, we know full well that party time has commenced, as it has done once again with this wicked new selection from Swim Inc & Kenny Beeper. We have a thunderous introductory track as the sounds of 'Marble Garble' touch down for a western-inspired journey through funkadelic synthesis and gnarly drum processing, giving us a seriously bouncy first leg of the EP. From here, 'Big Clique Energy' sees Swim INC roll out solo for a sizzling sweep through jittering percussive pulses and choppy organ chords, giving us a real bubbler to enjoy, before 'I Like That' arrives as a much more melodic finale, linking together fidget-like synth lines with more booming drum ideas to round off this collection with a real slap. We kick off with the nostalgic guitar lick sampling and skippy vocal flavours of 'Freefall', before the title track 'The Fun Police' unleashes a smokey hip-hop vibe, energized by it's organic drum smashes and catchy melodic lines. What's most impressive is the variety on offer, ranging from straight-up hip-hop from Alexander Norman Prosper & Stabfinger, to party breaks from Ali B and Krafty Kuts, to 'new old' soul from Flevans, to the fairly self-explanatory 'Disco Weapon' and 'Mirror Ballin'' (by Shaka Loves You and X-Ray Ted, respectively. Review: Fun loving Party Breaks and Beats label Bomb Strikes serve up a retrospective collection curated by label bosses Mooqee and Beatvandals. With 31 full-length cuts plus a one-hour DJ mix, there's no faulting the VFM as we move through breaks, funk, hip-hop and the occasional gnarlier nugget. Standouts include Andy Cooper & The Allergies' rework of Run DMC's 'Mary Mary' and Beatvandals & A Skilz's 2007 cut 'Sunshine', which mashes up Roy Ayers and Indeep. But the one we keeping back to is Mooqee's 'Supacat Police' (2006), which makes devastating, ragga-fied use of chunks from a certain KRS-One classic that we won't insult your intelligence by naming!

Here they gather up a vibrant project from Kenny Beeper, kicking off with a look at 'Toasty', which of course throws the classic vocal sample into the mix amongst gnarly synthesisers and punchy dum creations. Review: The title track to Kenny Beeper's Crown Jewel's EP is a good taste of what's to come. Infectious, flute-based funk rolles down into hip-hop influenced movement that's eclectic yet solid. 'Funky Party People' takes things in a more distinctly funk direction, composed of 80s-esque synths that'll almost force you to get moving, tinged with an acid house influence that injects an element of edge - just ridiculously happy. Finally, 'Let's Get It', which has a mellow, subtle introduction that doesn't stop it from quickly becoming a riot with yet more heavy-weight synths that'll delight the outspoken. A banging finish to an especially good release.

Laying down three bass heavy originals, it's business as usual: "Here Comes The Music" rolls with a classic Tipper style wasp bass that's garnished with myriad vocal stabs and shots.
