For their get this: 900th release, house institution Strictly Rhythm serve up a whopper in the form of two heavyweights. One half of Masters At Work Kenny Dope and the inimitable Roland Clark rocking the mic on the NSFW "Talk Dirty". We've first got the "Kenny Dope O Gutta mix" which is the deep and smooth version then there's a handy instrumental.Celebrating with a big bang indeed!
Another gem from the inimitable Louie Vega. Vicky "D" was a short-lived New York-based post-disco/garage house group best known for their club hit "This Beat Is Mine". Dance Ritual remixes of the 1981 SAM Records disco classic here. A neon-lit, boogie down jam for the late night that pays respect to the song's original format yet gives it a needed modern dancefloor dynamic. The K-Dope O'Gutta Dubba as you may have guessed is the dub version and we truly dug this one too as he extends the mix into a more elastic and lo-slung groove. "This Beat Is Mine" and "Mystery Lover" were both produced by Gary R. Turnier of Gary's Gang and written by Andre Booth - who collaborated with musicians such as MC Shan, Big Daddy Kane and Lords of the Underground.
