Review: The second installment in the Sulk Magic series features more left of centre dance floor tracks. Freudenthal's "Rapax Apicem" sets the tone with an off-beat disco track that moves from detuned riffs into a gradual siren crescendo over a staccato rhythm. Kieran Holden's "3 Or Four' is a more conventional disco groover - albeit one laced in 303s - but it's only a brief break from the release's weird and wonderful sound. In:State pursues a tripped out acid direction on the aptly named "Spacer"; Dawad and Mokic's "Furious" is low-sling ebm workout and best of all, Clandestino's "Simpatico" sounds like a trippy take on Amnesia's new beat classic, "Ibiza".

Review: Since launching last year, Madrid's Rotten Files has delivered a trio of releases dedicated to the trippy end of mid-tempo house/nu-disco fusion. Here, they continue that approach, serving up a quartet of remixes of tracks from November 2015's excellent Rotten Citizens Volume 1 EP. Undo steps up first, turning Kieran Holden's intoxicating "Barlick Acid" into a vocoder-sporting chunk of low-slung, post-punk disco/nu-disco fusion. Next, JackWasFaster's "Granada Liberation" is re-invented as a 102 BPM psychedelic acid chugger by A Best Man Dead, before Avanti doffs a cap to EBM on an excellent re-make of Gameboyz' "Tacon Puntera". Finally, Jonathan Kasuma chucks everything but the kitchen sink at Cabaret Nocturne's "Blind Trust", resulting in a chiming, chugging treat.

Review: Following the royal success that was Maximum Joy, Alfresco is back with another release. 2015 marks ten years of Alfresco Disco parties. The label is still only young, however, but the crew bring their party planning, DJing and producing experience into the label. The Maximum Joy pt. 2 presents four good friends of the Alfresco Crew, both old and new, who each bring something different to the e.p whilst still maintaining the free spirited Alfresco Vibe. Thermal Bear brings in a straight up classic deep house beat with "Round and Round". Outrageously warm chunky production and one to keep the crowd moving in the wee hours. Kemback's effort shuffles effortlessly into the mind, taking you on a dreamy trip to somewhere wonderful. A strong nod to Floating Points here with it's heavy swing, gritty drums, and Kemback makes subtle but powerful use of his fine musicianship. James Fox brings the good time disco-house vibe with the sample-heavy "Feeling Free". The wonderful arrangement and vocal make this a pure summer record that's been getting great crowd reactions, while CornishcConnection and newcomer Kieran Holden slows it down and makes it nice and trippy with the magnificent "Wild Palms".

Review: Madrid's Rotten City is a label dedicated to all things slow and moody and to kick things off they have rounded up some of the most appropriate producers for this new label comp. Over the fours tracks we vibes are all about slow motion brooding body music. Kieran Holden ups the acid levels on "Barlick Acid", JackWasFaster's "Granada Liberacion" is dark, linear machine music, Gameboyz deliver some typically excellent electroclash and Cabaret Nocturne wraps things up with the soaring Depeche Mode style electro-pop of "Blind Trust".

Review: Japanese DJ/producer Kezokichi made quite an impression during his time in London. Now he's returned to Tokyo and launched his own record label, Blindetonation, dedicated to "the disco of randomness - Balearic, drug chug, slow motion and weird vibe". Here, he kicks it off with an expansive compilation featuring a range of well regarded and little-known artists. Naturally, there's much to enjoy, from the sweet, analogue bounce of Jamie Paton's "Keys For Your Keeper (Dub)" and the near psychedelic chug of Tronik Youth's "The Past", to the bubbling electronics and eyeliner-clad melodies of Kieran Holden's "Stubbies", and the twisted, slow motion acid of Duncan Gray's "Kickintrusion".
