Review: 14 years have passed since Benji B and Judah established their monthly Deviation parties in London. This fine compilation celebrates the club's legacy and sound, which famously touched on all manner of soul-fired musical styles whilst keeping one eye (and both feet) on the dancefloor, with Benj B selecting cuts that never failed to rock the party. Review: Well well well, we were wondering when we would next have the opportunity to take in some fresh Kingdom, a producer known for his forward thinking production style and uniquely crispy finished product. This, the first volume of his new 'Exterra' release project, is the perfect way to summarize his sound, from the frankly stunning stripped back funky collaboration with Tiara Thomas entitled 'High Enough' to the more choppy, breaks driven slices of 'Chizel Cut' alongside MikeQ. The whole project is awesome to keep it simple, with Ms. Boogie joining the fun on the super bouncy title track 'Exterra', along with the percussive genius of 'LLEWXAM' and beautiful soundscaping of 'Azuza'.

Review: Last spotted on Fade To Mind with "Vertical XL", LA beat magician Kingdom returns with two blistering drum jams. "Shox" playfully twists trap's infatuation with synth horns by creating a larger than life riff that soon takes a backseat for the diesel powered drums. "Punished" sees him returning to the R&B chords and techniques that he originally made a name for himself with on Nightslugs and Trouble & Bass but does so by quashing the elements under industrial strength drums and high pressure atmospheres. Pay attention.

Review: With an ever-strong commitment to their very unique brand of modern electronic dance music, the Night Slugs posse are rounded up once again for a stocktake on the follow up to the successful Night Slugs Allstars compilation. It's only with a chance to reflect such as this you can appreciate the range that falls neatly into the Night Slugs remit. At one turn you can be doused in the blinding sunshine of Girl Unit's cheery electro as on "Ensemble (Club Mix)", or at the next be confronted with the staggered stab frenzy of Helix's somewhat ironically named "Drum Track". Try reaching them without being thrown by Bok Bok's 31st century grime madness or Lil Silva's hyper-kinetic throwdown of mechanical psychedelia and you might have a chance of getting a handle on the label as a whole.

Review: Having already bolstered the Night Slugs mission across an EP and occasional other appearances, Kingdom returns to his neon-lit home with more of that R&B flavoured business. "Let You No" rides one of those quintessential clean, precise dubstep beats that the NS crew love so well, while the melodies fall thick and bright around a decisive vocal rip. It's immaculately produced, while "Stalker Ha" manages to eke out more of an edge with some wild samples and hits over a more punchy UK Funky beat. "Dreama" sees Kingdom exploring his sound more, slowing the beat down to let his imaginative synth work fly free. Check it.

Review: Gathering together the best of NYC's alternative producers for this exclusive five track collection, Trouble & Bass pick the right names to show off the city's progressive side. Label boss Drop The Lime updates The Ramones on "Bourbon Blitz", giving it a subtle tip of the hat via some electro snares and Tex-Mex guitars, while Kingdom keeps things typically fascinating on "Uptown Buck" - delivering a brutally stripped-down kicks and vocals feast. Elsewhere Hussle Club take their cues from the CBGB's, while Cubic Zirconia deliver a tripped out acid freakdown with the beautiful "Lucid In The Sky".
