Review: Having previously collaborated on Eastern Promise a few years ago on Ram Records, North Base and Kitcha once again reunite this time on Drumsound & Bassline Smith's Technique Recordings. Paying homage to the popular family car of the 90s 'Cavalier' has plenty of mileage and room for manoeuvre. Elsewhere 'Roar' brings the va-va-room with real life growls and plenty of bassline grit before 'Bruck Out' chucks a little jungle charm in the gas tank for good measure. Last but not least North Base go it alone on the firing finale cut of the EP 'Sekkle'. Buckle up!

Review: Since resurrecting System Shock, Callide has been on a one-man mission to raise the profile of his own favoured brand of soul-shaking deadliness. On this little beauty of a remix EP though, he's no longer a man on a lone mission, as plenty of the scene's hardest hitters have been placed on point to lend a hand. Remixes like DJ Hybrid's old school take on "Inferno" and Dominator's epic rolling intro for "A Way To Get The Answer" have given a new lease of life to these dancefloor-destroying slices of pure energy, as well as show off the diversity and creativity that still lives within the heart of our darkest, most club-focused sub-genres. A must for any fan of the harder stuff.

Review: As Kitcha steps out on his own for the first time with his debut EP for Serial Killaz, it's hard to know what to expect. The onslaught of styles right from the off is a quick snap back to reality then, as hip hop meshes with junglist breaks and deep rolling vibes to create one of the label's most diverse works this year. Kitcha offers darkness in different forms throughout each track, and unlike most producers he chooses to mix it up, not settling for the standard build and drop, pushing the dancefloor to its limits. "Shadow Lurker" has already decimated many a decent night out - long may it continue to do so.
