Review: If you attended any music festivals this summer, there's a fair chance you danced along to Klaus Blatter's previous single, "(I Found Myself Surrounded By) The Lunatics of Acid House", at some point. While "Space Girl" is unlikely to become quite as ubiquitous, the trio of reworks showcased here are certainly worth a listen. Norwegian maestro Prins Thomas kicks things off with a predictably low-slung, off-kilter revision that wraps wild acid lines, spiraling synths and Blatter's distinctive spoken word vocal around heavy punk-funk bass and his usual loose-but-heavy disco drums. NYC legend Todd Terry provides a bouncy, radio-friendly acid house touch-up that should prove popular, while ILONA brilliantly re-imagines the cut as a raw, razor sharp slab of mangled acid techno tailor made for massive clubs.

Review: In its' original form, Klaus Blatter's "(I Find Myself Surrounded By) The Lunatics of Acid House" is a throbbing chunk of bass-heavy acid house/techno insanity featuring a rambling and eccentric spoken word vocal. Here the track gets the remix treatment, with the resulting versions offering even heavier takes on an already weighty track. Ejeca channels the spirit of early '90s Belgian techno on his slamming and mind-altering interpretation, while Vort brilliantly re-imagines it as a bubbly chunk of acid/deep electro fusion. Original producer Novak Spormento delivers a twisted and insanely intense "Pills Dub" - all ragged TB-303 lines, echoing vocal snippets and slamming grooves - before offering us a chance to savour his previously unheard instrumental version.
