Review: Wagon Repair co-founder Konrad Black doesn't release anywhere near as much music as we'd hope. But when he does, it's always worth paying attention. The very same can be said for the remixes he commissions, too. Case in point: these interpretations. First up Exit bossman dBridge ups the tempo and really plays with the cosmic textures of Konrad's original space theme where beautiful mid 90s pads and loosely swinging two-step provide a strong sense of timelessness. Second up: Romanian minimalist Barac who lays down an undulating acid-tinged groove that ploughs relentlessly, lavishly and uncompromisingly for over 12 minutes. Scorching.

Review: Todd Shillington has been rather quiet as a producer in the last few years. Rumoured to have been working closely with good friend and fellow Vancouverite Jeremy Shaw as musical collaborator on his many visual arts projects and their series of TTTB/OTD Berlin club nights. "Silene Dust" and "Sychcho Te Alyn" are dark UK bass inspired steppers which are no doubt indebted to his previous life as a drum and bass producer in the early noughties. They crossover interestingly into tech hose in a way that fans of M.E.S.H or Beneath may well appreciate. "Chelyabinsk Afterglow" is a haunting dark ambient piece reminiscent of Lustmord that's perfect as an intro for that dark techno set you've been planning. A fine return to form for Konrad Black and here's hoping he gets into the studio more often these days!
