Review: Following the release of his own compilation earlier this year, Victor Ruiz delivers this storming collection of tracks from his label. Best Of... features Ruiz' own productions - the throbbing "Touch the Darkness" - alongside collaborations with like-minds such as Alex Stein. The pair's "Human Robot" is a peak-time banger that resounds to a grainy bass, grinding rhythm and robotic vocals. Other producers contribute techno-led tracks. Andata's "Play Hard" revolves around bruising tribal drums and the kind of spiralling acid builds that recall Emannuel Top. Meanwhile, on "One Giant Consciousness", veteran producer Christian Smith goes old school. He weaves in insistent 303s over a snaking bass, with a stream of consciousness vocal sure to have the desired impact.

Review: Kos:mo, the latest addition to the Tronic roster, reaffirms the label's commitment to supporting new talent. The title track is an alluring combination of minimal and deep techno sounds as Kos:mo uses stripped back drums and rhythm as the basis for sweeping chord builds. On "Monteverde", he follows a similar route, albeit at a faster pace. On this occasion, chords sweep in dramatically over a rolling groove. "Midnight Run" resounds to a pulsating bass that builds and builds as the arrangement progresses and plays on Kos:mo's more electronic leanings. "Altered Feeling" marks another shift in style. Led by a stepping rhythm and spiralling acid lines, it brings the release to a tripped out close.

Review: Next up on Spektre's Respekt imprint is the fast-rising German producer Kos:mo who deliver a high-octane dance floor EP. "Here & Now" melds brooding synths with a grinding bass and subtle break beats, with this combination providing the backdrop for insistent vocal samples. Vocals also come to the fore on the title track, but in this instance, it's the sound of insistent male rhymes over pummelling kicks and a frazzled chord sequence. Kos:Mo goes down a more techno-focused route on "Sonic Motion". Led by a pulsating groove and insistent chords, it brings a dramatic end to this fine club release.
