Review: KS French, also known as MR Given Raw is a Parisian DJ and producer who heads up the FKR Maison De Groove and Disco Addict labels - known for good groovy music. On his new offering The Soul Trip EP, it's largely a low slung affair: from the sexy crooning on the late night boogie-down action of the title track, the roaring female vocals atop of some sultry mood music on "Next To You" and an oldie but a goodie to be experienced on the final track "If I Can Fly" - which you can most certainly file under 'respectful edit'.

Review: Ultimate house, disco and funk edits from Maison Du Groove outta France that's seen the legendary KS French deliver all manner of classic disco and house manipulations to the world this past decade. Celebrating seven years in the game, this anniversary compilation sends in a collection of sleeping and revamped classics given a new skin for the modern day. There's a slo-mo groove and chunk to most the tracks here with more uptempo rhythms coming in the form on "Soulmate", "Take Me Back" and "Geto Disko", with overtly house numbers to be found in "Funk Overdose" and KS French's "Do It Bae". 7th heaven!

Review: The 'French Touch' sound was a short-lived phenomenon in the late 90s/early 00s - or so musical history would have you believe. Mais si le French Touch est mort, vive le French Touch! For seven years now, French label FKR Maison Du Groove have been proving that you can't keep a good sub-genre down, and here the best of their output over that time is collected together in one place for your listening and dancing pleasure. So: if you dig deep, dusty, looping disco grooves you'll love this album, whereas if you're not a fan of same, then you definitely won't. Not much more to say, really.

Review: FKR maison du groove boss KS French, AKA Mr Given Raw, comes with another set of re-edits following in the footsteps of his previous 'Raw Soul Edits', 'Supa Funky Edits' and 'That Disco Sound' EPs. The EP opens with 'In Love', a dusty, looping, heavily filtered take on Lamont Dozier's 'Why Can't We Be Lovers' from 1972, while 'Closer' moves a little forward in the same decade, being a percussion-led disco jam whose source material we sadly couldn't tell you. Closer 'Thankful', meanwhile, is similar in feel and approach to 'In Love', but this time drawing on Bill Withers' 'Don't It Make It Better' from 1978.

Review: Despite its' matter-of-fact title, the Four Cuts EP is something of a departure for FKR Recordings. It's an all-star affair, designed to showcase the re-edit work of a trio of scalpel-wielding party starters. Mr Given Raw kicks things off with the impassioned, low-slung gospel funk of "Get Up On Girls", before label boss KS French sets aside his filters and house beats in favour of some swinging, bumpin' disco-funk goodness on the rather good "Kiss My Baby". The package is completed by two reworks from Miami native KNG Edits, who recently made his debut on Rebel Hearts. Choose between the effortlessly sweet, groovy and dewy-eyed "So Right", and the camp disco explosion that is "Shoot (Dancefloor Edit)", easily the EP's strongest moment.

Review: The scarily prolific KS French - France's most productive maker of house-friendly disco re-edits - returns with the third instalment of his ongoing Super Groove series. As usual, there's plenty to tickle the fancy of those looking for tried-and-tested, club-friendly interpretations of classic and little-known cuts. "B Rappin" does an impressive job of tweaking Blondie's "Rapture" - working the groove hard and abandoning most of the vocals - while the standout "See My Baby" offers an addictive interpretation of a familiar, low-slung disco-funk groover. Elsewhere, check the celebratory horns, hustling groove and thrilling vocals of "My Music". While KS French has added his usual metronomic house beats, it's deftly done.

Review: Prolific, filter-loving disco re-editor KS French returns to action with another quintet of floor-friendly revisions. The experienced Parisian impresses with opener "All My Life", a sumptuous, string-laden anthem with just the right amount of contemporary production trickery. There's more spine-tingling fare in the shape of the soulful shuffler "Do For Love", while "Supernatural" turns a disco-funk smasher into a smooth head-nodder. A Motown staple goes under the knife on the sinewy "Take Me Back", while "Think Over" is the kind of grandiose, uplifting disco fare that makes 30-something men want to whip off their shirts and pretend they're dancing in the Paradise Garage.

Review: KS French spreads the love for his latest French Kiss release - gathering an all-star cast of re-edit dons to share the load over these six tracks. Never just content with straightforward editing, French Kiss releases always add extra production techniques to the loops, creating something fresh in the process. Highlights here include KS French's own "Money We Make It" which cleverly incorporates a Marvin Gaye vocal into a deep funk shuffle, the loopy, phased guitar heaven of P Sol's "Feel Me Baby" and the tough, stomping warped disco house of "Another Wish" by DJ Moar. C'est bon!

Review: Greece-born, Paris-raised, Bremen-based DJ/producer KS French has previously impressed with his tasty reworks of classic disco and electrofunk jams. Here he delivers four more tried-and-tested edits for Diggin' Deeper. These range from the familiar (a loopy, filter-heavy take on "You Used To Hold Me So Tight", which sounds like the sort of thing House of Disco would release), to the little known (the similarly filter-heavy '80s soul bump of "Lovers"). Here, though, he's at his best when hitting the more straight up disco flavours hard, as the bass-heavy disco-funk bump of "Make Your Body Groove" and hands-in-the-air anthem "Wear It Out" more than prove.
