Review: Man like Kumarachi returns to his spiritual stomping ground Deep In The Jungle with some absolutely disgusting rave energy. 'Echoes' is chock-a-block with hardcore and early jungle elements, all wrapped up and galvanised into a heady ballistic brew. The foundation fire continues on 'Everything I Do', which comes on strong like a classic Headz piece, while 'Bad Boy Sound' rubs our faces in the bassline dirt before firing us up into space with a deep cosmic set of synths. Finally 'No Repeat' reminds us of Kumar's sci-fi side with stunning electro-like synthetic menace and a set of drums so sharp and brisk they could fly you round the universe and back. Badness.

Review: A long time ago, in a land far, far away, Deep in the Jungle unleashed interplanetary destruction on a galactic scale. Not really, but they are channelling the force with this compilation, which ropes in some of the galaxy's fiercest producers to craft old-school riddims with a futuristic touch. Conrad Subs lands all phasers blasting with a bunch of different cuts, and his collaboration 'Rock On' with DJ Hybrid is an absolute percy, a sub-heavy wobbler that oozes funk through brass stabs and a rhythmic, catchy approach. Redline flips a light, fluttery intro into bassline-led low frequency devastation, whilst Kartoon gets old school with his remix 'Lions of Judah' by Sharpz. Unreal stuff.

Review: Deep in the Jungle have emerged as arguably the biggest standout new jungle label in recent times and, off the back of their growing family of artists, they've decided to try and represent both where the label and the genre are in 2020. With artists from DJ Hybrid, to Conrad Subs and beyond, it's a statement of intent from the imprint. The music reflects that intention as well, with jungle sounds throughout but punctuated with that modern, sharper edge that we've come to expect from our newly revitalised scene. DJ Hybrid's 'On A Riddim' is the best example, as a punchy bass note streams out of a bedrock of clattering breaks, whilst we're seriously digging the rolling reece's of 'The Rhythm' by Conrad Subs. All of these are proper percys.

Review: Kumarachi is one of the best recent talents to emerge from the current smorgasbord that is the D&B scene, his rough and ready sound blends jump up currents with jungle stutters and it's ideal for any situation. Basement carries on that trend on Deep In The Jungle and blimey, it's pretty damn good. 'Jungle Tingz' featuring RMS is our favourite, with a hypnotic sample that grounds its cracking percussive knocks within a framework of bassy shudders and groaning sweeps. It's a proper sound, and the thiriving nature of the scene right now drips from this release.

Review: Deep In The Jungle Records is a UK jungle imprint that have been making bigger and bigger waves over the past several years, a big part of which is their affinity for fat compilations that straddle numerous sub-genre boundaries and which represent lots of different artists. This next one is about classics and it features artists like Conrad Subs, Kumarachi, DJ Hybrid, Kartoon and more. Conrad Subs is a favourite of ours and his cut, Takeover, is a wicked, deep rolling piece of work that packs a sick bassline, one which makes you think of late-night raving at its finest. Review: It's WAR: Deep In The Jungle charge forth with another battle set that features some of the label's heaviest prize fighters. Shells across the spectrum: duck and cover as Epicentre's supersized warped bass jungle slapper "BIG" comes flying upside your noggin, Veak's awesome samplecraft on "Heavy Load" sends you into a hazy spin and the total drum hurricane on Sound Shifter's "Urban Style Formation" knocks every puff of wind out of you. Elsewhere Soul Defiance's "Pariah" coats you in sticky napalm bass before drying you off with soul-stirring pads, Crinnion traps you with a drone sub pincer movement and Sikka provides the final blow with some of the eeriest bass textures ever heard on DITJ by way of his Kumarachi remix. Review: Deep In The Jungle got picked out by UKF has one of the top labels of 2018 the other week and it's certainly well deserved, for they just consistently bang out some of the most vibey jungle around. They also represent forthcoming artists and we'll always support those who give a platform to people who otherwise might not. The album is a huge fifty tracks, spanning some well-known names like DJ Hybrid, SL8R, Conrad Subs, RMS and Kumarachi. The latter kicks off the album with a bang, 'Have You Here' sweeping down the range with its DLR-esque bassline and riotous attitude. Review: Do you like venturing deep into the jungle? Well, if you do, make sure you don't get lost - the jungle is massive. Jokes aside, this four-track sampler precludes a full-length release that offers you the exact type of jungle tour you need. Up first is the prolific DJ Hybrid with 'Rumble In The Jungle', a stuttering, rambunctious jungle cut that hits hard and leaves you in a slight state of shock. 'Run Em Out' by Epicentre is full of upbeat ragga vocals and samples, the top-line to a tune that has a ferocious bottom-line pinning it all together over a rolling percussive line. Kumarachi bloody does in on 'Have You Here' and to finish, RMS goes in just as hard on 'Clash Stash'. Top sampler - can't wait for the full thing.

Review: His first substantial body of work since his agenda-setting debut album on DJ Hybrid's other label Audio Addict, Kumarachi jumps over to Deep In The Jungle with four bundles of absolute breakbeat bliss. "45" sets the scene with bashy amen cuts, a smoky ragga sample and basslines so rude you'll need new trousers. "Move Up Your Body" continues the lewd factor thanks to its Blackmarket-style bassline that rumbles with ankle-slapping lowness while "Buss It Up" plays the consummate end boss with its rough and rusty amen slaps and punches. "So Listen" closes the show with even nuttier drums, this time on more of a Dread bass timestretched flex. Impeccable and true to the craft.

Review: Founded by DJ Hybrid, one of the hardest working men in the last 10 years of jungle, Audio Addict has been a vital platform for many artists to breakthrough. Kumarachi, Agro, Scartip, RMS, Section, Jaybee and many more enjoyed early cuts on the label, who've always had an open remit that's stretched from heavier dancefloor cuts to deeper, more junglist tunes. Recently rebooted with a new plan and re-generated crew, the label now look back over many killer cuts from last decade. Highlights include the sample-smashing 'Back To Reality' (RMS) , the epic disco feels of 'All You Need To Know' (Bassface Sascha & Fiendsoul) and the bleepy, low-slung stepper 'My Days Are Cold' (Agro). Review: Audio Addict are turning ten years old, a fantastic achievement, and to mark the occasion the good people over there are releasing a wicked compilation that draws upon lots of the artists in their orbit. This first sampler features Disrupta, Jappa, Subcriminal, Crossy and K Jah across a five-track showcase of just how gully this label can be, with all five artists stepping up to remix tracks from the label back-catalogue. Disrupta takes the reins first and does so with aplomb, putting a fiery spin on DJ Hybrid's 'Shoot Em Up' and flipping it into a warped-out engine of pure dancefloor energy. At the end of the release, K Jah comes with a distinctly different vibe that's much more rough and tumble, a bouncy yet relentless bassline sitting beneath a sampled vocal from Liam Bailey that sounds unreal. Top EP and we can't wait for the full version.

Review: These 3 are some of Manny's best forthcoming talent, a collection of artists who prioritise genuine vibes and naughty head nodders over pretentious introspection or chin-stroking punditry. Hardcore Vibes is an exemplification of that worldview, with four system-shaking cuts of jungle-influenced hedonism that range from the funky to the downright dirty. 'The Masses' falls into the latter of these two categories and it packs a tapestry of different low-frequency slivers and punchy bass notes, all underpinning a raucous set of jungle stutters and vibrato breaks. Wicked stuff.

Review: Don't be misled by the title: this is no thrown-together 'greatest hits' package but rather a 40-track label showcase from DJ Hybrid's Audio Addict label, coming complete (if you opt to buy the whole album) with a fast and furious, 52-minute mixed version by Canada's RMS, aka Paul Currie. Tracks come a mixture of relatively new names (Martyn Nytram, Saffire Dubz, Confusious) and more established players (LJ High, Scartip and of course Hybrid himself), while stylistically the album touches on various different D&B sub-genres, but with the emphasis always firmly on cuts that are built to tear up the rave.

Review: If you ain't misbehaving, you ain't worth saving... Hybrid's Audio Addict return to the ravey series they set in 2016 with another hard-slapping six-piece. Do-no-wrong Kumarachi reminds us why he's boss with a stuttering jungle roll and demonically pitched vocal samples, Conrad Subs calls on everyone's favourite macabre aged WWE wrestler by way of twist think break devilry while Hybrid fine-tunes his 20/20 vision with a stinking halftime romp. Elsewhere Riffz lashes out on the razz snares, the mysterious Scartip skins us alive with his rim shots and Habitat strips things back with some beautiful time-stretched drum work. Be good now.

Review: DJ Hybrid looks back over another successful and hugely prolific year with this massive 31 track compendium of Audio Addict slammers, bangers and a few cheeky exclusives. A great opportunity to get up to speed on the 170BPM clarity DJ Hybrid operates the label at, every single track guarantees heat. Notable shouts go out to Kumurachi's various inclusions (especially Octo-Pi's brand new remix of "Phatty"), RMS & Dcision's low-riding bumper "One Ting", Epicentre's slinky soul-touched roller "infamous", Agro's skank-slapped "Bust Dis Ting" and Swerve's maximum-boosting twist of Hybrid's "What Else". But that really is the tip of the double-A iceberg. It's been an exceptional year for the label, and this is proof.

Review: Danger danger danger: Kumarachi returns to Hybrid's Audio Addict with his largest body of work since his debut album Flashback released exactly a year ago, it's clear the young talent is still on serious rampage. Five firing originals deep, each cut is anchored with deep groaning bass weight and superb drum arrangements and clarity with highlights blurring your senses on every track... The filthy swing of "Flow Drop" with Octo-Pi, the electroid sizzles of "Straight Up", the tripped-out bass textures and subtle jazzy stabs of "Open Door" with Agro, the pure positivity and breezy soul of "Played Out" and the murkier, dark-dream shaker "Return To You" with US G Jaybee. Primed with an outstanding Section remix of last year's successful Liam Bailey-fronted banger "4am", this really is an exceptional package. Sleeping on this is a mug's game.

Review: On-point future feels from Audio Addict pillar Kumarachi as he teams up with Shy FX and Chase & Status collaborator Liam Bailey: "4am Where Are You" is an all-out vocal soul record with the big hooky emotion. Armed a warped, slightly trippy edge to the musicality, it's a subversive twist on a classic formation. "Shifting Sands" is more of a heads-down roller that pummels with same disregard for your health as Renegade Hardware tracks did around the early 2000s. Again, with some creative techniques applied to the vocal aspects, it's clear a lot of attention has been invested. More of this please Kumarachi.

Review: Once you've finished saluting Audio Addict for the ridiculous title of this various artists EP press play... The sounds are even better than the memorable title. Samurai Breaks & DJ Hybrid's title track skips between eski fills, classic jungle elements and halftime steps with such slick fusion you could rewind this for hours and no one would blame you. Other highlights include the ragga steps and Dub Phizix-style jungle subversion of "On A Vibe", the barbed soul and Bukemesque brushed drums of "Wu Jukin", the gangster halftime of "Ruff It Up My Selecta" and "Night" where classic Blackmarket bass is fractured for the Exit generation. Audio Addict have always been generous and forward-thinking with their releases but this one raises the bar a few notches higher again. Essential.
