Review: This 13-track compilation is, as the title suggests, the 17th in the series from Piston Recordings, a Bonzai sub-label specialising in deeper house sounds. As such, many of you will have a good idea what to expect already - but for anyone who's just wandered in, deep house from the more electronic side is the order of the day generally, thankfully without things ever getting overly glitchy or pointlessly self-indulgent and introspective. Suave's delicate, garage-tinged 'Good Times', Rafael Malhern's Fingers-esque 'Another Day' and L-Gil's vaguely disquieting 4am throbber 'The Chord' are among the highlights from a very worthwhile collection.
