If you've been keeping your ears open, Atlanta-based drum and bass deconstructors Legion and Logam won't be new names to you. In fact, the original, "Blackout", was first spun on Hype's show back in 2012. Never a pair to settle on the basics, there are flashes of techno, bass music and house throughout this choice selection, from the frenetic sampling of "Warehouse", straight-up heaviness of "Trippin'" and the spatial trippiness of "Red Letter", to the grimy, underground sounds of "Gate" - it's easy to see their experimental sides are getting more exercise of late. "Blackout VIP" is, as if you needed to be told, totally massive. Big bass, on point production and giant blasts of empty space give off that skewed L&L vibe. You need it.
